Stop playing new maps loading screen soundtrack over other maps

Why you may ask? It kills the vibe of the map and if you didn't realize it before well now reading this your about to realize it now.

Every time Dice adds a new map like Redacted that maps loading screen track will play over other maps soundtracks. For example I see Flashpoint in the queue and I get excited thinking I'm going to hear Flashpoints fire loading screen OST only for stupid Redacted to play instead.

After they add a new map it stops playing over other maps but the new map will play over other maps and the cycle continues.

Let the vanilla maps and the season maps have their own music. Vanilla maps with it's four variations and the season maps with their exclusive soundtracks.

Please Dice stop doing this. When I play a certain map I want to know I'm playing that map. Plus it really seems amateur and disorganized. Exposure and Stranded never played over other maps when they first released. This only started happening with Spearheads release.

I already have my music package in sound in options set to game launch and it didn't change anything. Well except for the lobby music and that little tune that plays when the specialists used to give their little cringe lines before the match starts.

Unless there's a setting only available for current Gen that we last Gen players aren't getting then I don't know what to say.

  • I agree with this, it needs to be fixed. Spearhead has an iconic soundtrack that you associate with a good map and down to the wire game. Now you hear the drums jammin out to a broken highway bridge in Doha. It looses the dopamines production it invoked.

I went the superior route and turned it off all together. lol

  • Glad the solution is that simple for you. No music in a game for me is like sugar free cheerios.

In 2042 it's like Operation metro playing over the siege of Shanghai loading screen and i equate it to heavy metal playing on a victorian era movie.

It's all out of place. Hence "disorganized"

In their defense their still playing catchup on all the bugs. Not in their defense, the game never should have been released with so many issues.

yep, exactly. After the initial sound of two steel whales rubbing against each other, I muted the music for the game (took about 10 seconds after launch). First/only BF game I've ever done that for. Most games I leave music on unless it is insanely repetitive/bad.

  • On the contrary I like the music in this game. I actually set my music package back to game launch. "It's asymmetrical music." To me it works specifically for this semi futuristic setting. It's a refreshing difference from the same old, same old.

Maybe year one 2042 it can get repetitive but we got other maps now with portal maps in the Conquest rotation with 2 more maps on the way. That's a 7 (vanilla maps) to 10 (seasonal + portal maps) ratio. I'd call that a fine balance.

Now don't misconstrue what I'm saying because BF1 still has my favorite score. Now if we want to roast 2042s battlefield theme then I'm right there with you.
