Hi,I suggest to implement an optional auto-fire option.What is an auto-fire option?If you shoot with a pistol or half automatic weapon or a weapon with salve mode or single shoot mode then you only need to hold one button instead of smashing it repeatdly instantly.Why should it be implemented?There are actually 4 reasons I discovered why it should be implemented.It is very comfortable, just holding one button and you shoot automatic as long you hold the button, you will gain no hurting "fingers" from it anymore.Macros and other things that would allow you to do that would be gone when everyone can use it optional.A longer durability for controller and mouse users because the wear and tear of the "shooting" button would be decreased.It could also help people disabled people and old people who are not so fit with their hands anymore but still wants to enjoy a good shooterNegative effects?Not really, I think weapons that wouldn't be played often would get an increase of useage and more kills as without this suggestion in case of better comfortability.In case people don't like it, they can turn it off. The only question is just, should people have to put it on or off for this feature?Best regards.

Why not just use an automatic weapon if it is too hard to use a semi-automatic weapon, I mean that is the way the guns were designed to be semi-automatic and I feel that is the skill of the weapons

Not a good idea because semi auto weapons tend to have a sweet spot for rate of fire and accuracy (or button spam). Spam too much and your accuracy is affected, be too slow on the button bash and you lose rate of fire. If it was made 'auto' then this would be like hitting the sweet spot every time and therefor making the weapon characteristics pointless.

NO!Whilst I have every sympathy with people who may find it difficult to repeatedly press triggers, this option would be abused by those that don't need it.I should point out that I am somewhat advanced in age and having used power tools most of my career, my fingers are getting a tad stiff (fnarr, fnarr) and achy so arguably, I would benefit but no, bad idea.

@CloudMcRipLet me make sure I understand. You want to press and hold the fire button and the weapon, including semi-automatic weapons, will continuously fire as quickly as the animation allows?

@kkonU Why not just accept my suggestion? It is easy and gives a higher accessability instead of discriminating people and won't let them use semi weapon?
The semi-automatic will be used how it is designed by the speciallist/soldier, just you the player who doesn't have a rifle in the hand, just a mouse or controller that gives the input to use the rifle.
If the "semi-automatic" is well balanced and well designed the "auto-shooting" won't be so OP how you are afraid of it will be besides nearly everyone would use it anyway.

@carsono311 Correct. You don't get any benefit from it expect that the wears and tears aren't hit so hard on controllers as also it is more comefortable and provides a longer durability for your controller.

@CloudMcRip Yeah, I do not see much issue with this, but I also think it will not be a high priority for EA DICE, if they decide it is not game-breaking in some way...

But absolutely NO to making all weapons fully automatic!
As you are then into negating all the characteristics of any weapon versus another. The great thing about Battlefield is the variance of weapons we have are exactly the specific characteristics of each single one of them. And how they all serve a special purpose and how they are balanced out. The RPM metric vs the magazine size vs the reload time vs the total ammo amount vs the recoil effect vs the accuracy vs the bullet damage, etc etc.
This all combined with each player's ability/skillset to take advantage or not of each of these weapon aspects for any given game mode and map situation you deploy in for the gameplay. Let's not dum it down please.

@CyberDyme The weapons will be still have all "characteristics" and they don't get fully automatic! It doesn't need to "balanced" out as it already is. You understand it wrong and have a fully wrong picture of it. My suggestion does nothing more as that you don't have to "trigger" anymore. You hold the shooting button, it is all on the same speed, you get affected by the recoil and spread, and each loading will be animated. The semi automatic weapons are still semi automatic just for you as player is the difference that you hold the shooting button when you want to shots multiple shoots. Of course are all animations available. So please read carefully and don't play dumb.

All you write is that you want to press and hold the trigger and then the weapon should keep firing at optimal rate and animating. So not much to separate the skilled player to optimize the tap firing and counter the recoil versus the less skilled players who just jam the trigger... That is obviously dumbing down the skillset.
If the mechanics of what you want is not that, then please extend your explanation.

@CloudMcRip No, because it doesn't make any sense in regards of immersion and weapon balance.
If you want full auto firing, you are free to use a full auto weapon. If you want to use a weapon that only shoots 3-round bursts, don't expect it to work in full auto, since it doesn't in real life either.

I already explained it on the other posts what I want.
Dumbing down the skill set? No not really, because this "tiny" option wouldn't make any difference to the skill set, you still need all the "experience" it is also the opposite effect with that option because you think you make easier kills but this would also implement that you will get killed easier which would make 1 vs 1 more difficult.
It is really that simple what I suggest here, when you set the "auto-shooting" ON then you just need to aim and hold the shooting button and you trigger automatically your pistol until your stop or your clip is empty. It shoots all 12 shots and then you have to press Reload (when there is no auto reload).
With "auto-shooting" OFF you would have to press 12 times the shooting button and then you have to press Reload.
The difference are now: The player itself if he is able to press 12 times in a row the trigger of the pistol or not.
When it would be about "speed" then both players would have the same speed, it is how I said just an option for more comfortably.
The skill what would go away would be a fast "trigger" finger. To be honest, fast trigger finger vs durability of a controller / mouse , I would take the controller / mouse so I get more of my money.

It does make sense from a technical view.
When it is an option, weapon balance is guaranted because you have still all the recoil, even with the shoots 3-round bursts.
Really immersion would be a forced haptic feedback, forced trigger effects, forced motion aiming, forced one shot down ttk but we are talking about a game not about a simulator.
I don't want full "auto firing" , I want not to press 12 times in a row the same button, in the same speed when you have the exact same result by just holding the button.

@CloudMcRipApparently you never had the chance to shoot a gun in real life.
If you want auto-fire, use an auto-fire weapon.
There is a reason, why the Glock 17 pistol in BF4 is so popular.
Don't change the game, when the options you are looking for, are already in the game.
For the rare don't aim don't care situations, maybe you need to press your button a couple of times.
