I know I'm not the only one, I will be playing the open beta still of course and I can't wait for that. And I hope it feels just like BF3/BF4, I know a lot of people like BFV but I personally hope this will not turn out be BFV 2.0 I wanted Battlefield to return to it's roots and it's seeming less likely that it's doing that from new info I'm finding out about it.I am still hyped for it, but a lot of stuff sounds like they're chasing the CoD fan base and the one Battlefield has could not be more different.

@TankerFlanker seem for me. This game is getting more and more like COD with every news they provide. The specialist Thing has killed all my expectations.

The specialist system is a big step backward. I also was hoping for a more wholesome classic BF game . The story line is more befitting of 2142 than 2042. Tying a gadget to a character removes choice we had in previous BF games. Giving a gadget to a hero only incentivizes people to spend money. Its corporate garbage. This game has lost touch with core fans.

It shouldn't just have been all in or nothing at all.If we on PS5 wanted/desired to play together with friends on Xbox, but not with PC players, then why shouldn't we have that option available to do so?Now they confirmed that we do not...And for the licensing model and the specialists, why have they not yet come out clear on this? Is it really pay-to-win and we need to buy all 4 full seasons to get all the 16 specialists and all their perks/gadgets? COD for sure and the mix of gadgets, as we have like no classes anymore, more like a special ability... The winning team in the past was the ones better in picking the most optimal classes and mix of classes for the team at certain points in the gameplay. Now all players will flock to the specialist and loadout that is the most OP combination, just like in COD and WarZone with limited variation. The soldier classes is actually for me one of the most important features in the past games and what makes Battlefield stand out versus COD and others!And yes, battlefield is famous for the gameplay levolution. But I am not buying this game because of the tornado animation. Sure it will be fun the first 10 times to be sucked up and into wearing your wingsuit. But its sure as hell not like silly annoying sandstorms and game destroying tornados are going to make us sit in awe 6 months from now, when we see them in every single round we play. And they totally tear everything apart and its random who will come out as winner after the turmoil... That is not a fun part, as if its game destroying. Any levolution should add something special strategically for us to play with/decide on to do or not. Like in Shanghai map, should we take down the skyscraper as the enemy team appear to dominate us there?! (great really! ...though then EA left the map near unplayable for many after that event, as the dust kept flowing in the air for the reminder of the match... not so cool that part as not needed...more an annoyance than adding to the game fun)Why didnt EA allow us to filter if we want to play in the game with or without the AI bots?The functionality for the bots is there. Its technically quite simple to enable/disable a function you already have in the 'full version', so why not allow us that freedom and personal choice?I dont really care much about how many bots i shoot down. I care about the other real people players that I play with or against in the game.Battlefield is supposed to be the true sandbox experience and not like lining up for a tasteless repetitive pre-cooked dinner...

@TankerFlanker dissapointed that the 'love letter' to the fans was just rehashed maps. Though they are very welcome, i was hoping for something a little more.

I have no idea why DICE would cater to the player base that will for sure cause problems for the consoles player base like you said for Apex and Warzone.And yeah I'm sure there will be a specialist meta, as I saw someone else say everyone will be an assault with a wingsuit or grappling hook, and vehicles will be destroyed instantaneously probably as well.

The more I find out about 2042 the less Battlefield it sounds like

Doesnt matter if you create a COD in it is still a COD and Not a BF. I wouldnt Call frostige Superior to anything in 2021. We got the same bugs in every BF since BF4.

@TickTack121 Not talking about bugs. I am talking about 2 of the MAJOR components to gameplay that make a game good or not. So what if we have some features from COD...the actual gameplay of the core game is and always has been better. Perhaps the DICE folks just know how to utilize their engine better than the other developers use theirs. However, it's better in the main aspects as far as Multi-Player shooter games are concerned.

Named characters has got nothing to do in a Battlefield game - Maria, Boris and so on.
It would be more fitting in a roleplaying game, or a childrens game.

BF is more than the Frostbite-Engine. The engine is just a tool to create a game. It doesnt matter, which engine you use, if the game is crap. You got 100% BF, put 20% COD features in and do it again and again and again... and you will get a COD. I dont want BF to be a COD, thats the reason i have been only buying BF since i switched, when i was younger.

Maybe it's EA's perverse way of making up for the missing campaign personas? As now we wont get the pleasure of playing 'Sergeant Daniel Recker' and doing all his crazy stunts and raids with his wonderful Marine Core Tombstone squad mates he had. Extraction pilot Hawkins, squad leader Dunn, CIA agent Laszlo Kovic, Irish and action lady Hannah!
Instead, we will now be stuck in some silly named specialists, with whom we do not get along...
Like a Rainbow Six released all way back in 2015.... Except back then it was maybe newsworthy...???

@VOLBANKER_PC Not joking. I have played multiple games from other engines and it is the feel of those games that brings me to that opinion when compared to Frostbite.
