Weapons mastery

While playing Battlefield 4, I had this idea, isn't it fun to have a mastery system in Battlefield 2042, let's take weapons mastery, for example, each kill you get with a specific weapon adds points to the weapon and the more kills you get, the higher mastery you have with that weapon, well this is just for fun or flex, so high mastery weapons shouldn't add more damage or anything, just as a decoration. I don't know if you guys got my point or no.

  • @Fraytnoss That kind of thing has been going on in COD for a long time. Basically, you complete challenges (headshots, hipfire kills, ADS kills, etc.) to unlock mastery player cards, badges and camos for each weapon. I think it's kind of cool, but I hate when teammates go for challenges instead of playing match objectives.
  • @Fraytnoss Actually I would prefer it is just "kills" or even just "points" instead of "headshots/hipfire" kills et cetera because this will improve that people will play the objective instead of doing the assignments and lower the "teampower" with their behaviour.

In Battlefield V we had Assignments but I don't see where 10 Headshots within objective area with one live while using a Gewehr 43 which needs 3 sometimes 4 Headshot bullets with a 11 shot magazine makes fun. Also the alternative doesn't make fun 20 Headshots within an objective area in one round.

So I hope we get "Assignments/Weapon Mastery" which improve the Teamplay, make 50 Kills, do 1000 Damage points and so on... a kill is a kill it shouldn't matter if the kills will happen with hipfire/headshot/proning.

Unlocking items for weapons based on kills is IMO ok, make a skill/perk like in bf4 based on points based on what you do ingame.

I found it easy to look at my team, figure out what perk to grab and then join in adding that perk to the team.

That way you can log in, join the game and not spend much time on "what should I pick"

    Hi @Fraytnoss ,

You had something very similar to this in previous Battlefield games, where you had like Weapon Mastery dog tags and also Vehicle Mastery Dog Tags.  On them was the insignia of how many kills you had so far with that weapon.  And you could equip your soldier with such dog tags.  Meaning they would be shown to your dead enemy after you had killed them off.  Back in BF4, this weapon mastery dog tag was awarded to you upon 500 kills with any given weapon in the game, including gadgets.  Aka see here for claymores...

Think this was a very fine system and would welcome that back to our BF2042 gameplay, as we already saw dog tags taken from enemy in the first reveal trailer that EA gave us, so the dog tags are definitely in the game!

  • @Fraytnoss As long as we abandon the BFV assignment system. It essentially forced you to play in a way that was detrimental to your team and likely your own play style.

@carsono311 Agree. No more assigment system. Worst idea ever. Sorry, upgrade trees was even worse.
Just make it about kills or points.

    Hahaha @Trokey66

I even took the claymore to honor you the real master guru here!  😜

That dog tag I have is probably just made of some cheap tin compared to your platinum edition?

@CyberDyme To be fair, I am still a learner. Kaas, a guy I play with regularly has over 18,000!

Stunning - Some players are just in a league of their own!  :o)
