Why nobody seems to give out orders when requested?

@Estynytapa_HaikuThey pretty much ignored any squad based gameplay in this game.

BF5 had a great way to promote squad play, had an actual system in place to remove back squad leaders and promoted objective play to earn points to use to call ins.


2042 has none of that.

You don't get points for taking flags as a squad, you don't get "Order fulfilled" XP, you don't see any orders in the first place

there is no reason to follow orders, no exp is rewarded for it

I know it tells you on the matchmaking screen as it shows up above you playercard, but making it more obvious in game would help.

I hope you would introduce squad leader class in next game. And improve teamwork experience by miles. Otherwise, it's other shooters which will caught my caution. I am apathetic about future of this franchise for changing its design mentality. Hell Let Loose ticks a lot of those teamplay boxes but it lacks anonymous preset communicating tools similar to Battlefield. 😳

There's also zero incentive in game to give or listen to orders. Previous Battlefields had squad perks and squad leader bonuses to give a real reason to play as a squad.

This is not a battlefield game unfortunately. So why play it like one

Yeah and therein lies the problem, just another reason BF2042 does not feel like a true BF game.

for me the explanation is rather easy.

in 2042 you get no real benefit from following an order, you get no extra XP or score whatsoever, you do not get a cool bonus (in BF1 your platoon emblem would fly under the objective flag as a show of who took the objective). also since squads are randomly assigned and you can not switch beyond getting randomized again, player objectives are therefore random as well. maybe one player is trying to T1 a certain sniper rifle thus not wanting to cap but to get kills from a distance, your other squad mate just started playing and still tries to work out his control-scheme and the third player is tanking/flying a chopper so you are effectively alone in your PTFO attempt...
in BFV you would switch squad to a group who also want to PTFO but alas, leagacy features are no longer considered part of Battlefield by the devs so maybe they rediscover that particular feature in time for the next game.... i doubt that tough

if i'm forced to play with a new random bunch every game i have zero interest in working with the squad because in my experience most people (not just in game but life in general) are of questionable intelect and i don't need a rando with a god complex ordering me around at his whims.

I agree with the points above, there is no benefit to playing as a squad in 2042.  Without the mechanics to change squad leader or earn squad points for special call-ins, there is absolutely no point in requesting, following or giving orders.  Sadly at this point in 2042's life, I doubt we will see any changes to this.  It's one of the single biggest mistakes DICE made with this game.

A lot of the time it's probably just missed with all the activity going on .... ducking heli bombs, running from 60MM mortar, multiple infantry, robotic dogs and sentries....   

The benefit of following orders (even in super limited squad command abilities) would be coordinated attack and better chance at capturing an objective leading to victory.   

Of course, that's just me, it seems everything is about XP today.
