Bullet Origin Should Be from the Barrel, Not the Scope

Dear EA and Battlefield 2042 Development Team,

As a long-time fan of the Battlefield series, I deeply appreciate the unique balance of large-scale combat, realism, and teamwork that sets this franchise apart. However, there is a fundamental gameplay mechanic that I believe is undermining that identity in recent titles.

Why do bullets no longer originate from the barrel of the weapon, as they did in Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1?

Currently, bullets appear to be firing from the center of the scope or crosshair, not from the actual barrel. This change creates unrealistic shooting scenarios and allows players to "pixel peek" from extremely tight angles, which breaks immersion and damages game balance.

While this kind of mechanic may make sense in games like Rainbow Six Siege that are focused on close-quarter, tactical combat, it feels completely out of place in a Battlefield game, which traditionally values more realistic and large-scale warfare.

The consequences of this scope-origin shooting mechanic include:

  1. An unbalanced playing field that favors corner abuse.
  2. A steeper learning curve for new players due to unintuitive hit registration.
  3. A loss of authenticity and the distinctive Battlefield feel.

Honestly, I’ve stopped playing the game because of this issue, and I know many others in the community feel the same way. Discussions on forums and community servers often reflect this frustration.

Please consider revisiting this mechanic. It’s a seemingly small change, but it has a big impact on the overall experience.

Thank you for your time and for listening to your dedicated player base.
