Can’t log into EA account or Reset password (can’t play BF20242)

All this started with me trying to play the BF6 beta. When I went to start it wanted me to sign into my EA account and I couldn’t get it to work, even though I’ve played both NCAA football and BF2042 in the past few days without issue.

When I went to EA’s website to log in, it told me there was unusual activity and that I needed to reset my password. However when I try to reset the password it gives me an error message and the code is never sent to my email to reset the password.

I contacted EA support live chat and had to be on hold for 2 hours (which is absurd) only for them to tell me they can’t verify my identity and won’t do anything to help me.

Worse yet, I can’t just use any other EA account because my Xbox is linked to my old account and it won’t let me unlink and link to the new account.

This is ridiculous.. Just to play a freaking game.. Never in my life have I had such difficulty to play a game, much less contact customer support.

I don’t know what else to do now. Any ideas on how I can get this fixed?

  • I was able to get back in to my EA account.

When I launched an EA game on my Xbox, it told me I had to sign in. It has an option to update your email address if you no longer have access to your old email (which is my situation). I originally tried using my current email address but it didn’t work because I have a newer second EA account that uses my existing account (which is the account I had to use to post this on the forum).

Anyways, I had to use someone else’s email address that didn’t have an EA account and when I did that it worked and sent an email to their email with a code to verify who I am on Xbox.

I entered that code and was able to sign in and update my password. Now I’m back to playing EA games and I’m able to sign into my account.

All that being said, this entire process has been a major pain and EA seriously needs to improve their customer service.

Good luck to anyone else out there trying to get back into their account!

For real.. And EA’s customer support is an absolute joke. There is no point of buying any more EA games when I can’t even play them. So much for Battlefield 6, I guess I’ll save my money. Smh.

Stupidest business model I’ve ever seen.

I wish I would have got a screen shot. But basically when I launched an EA game it popped up with a white window saying I needed to verify my account or whatever and it showed my old email account.

However under that it had an option (I think if I pressed “Y” on the controller) that basically said if I didn’t have access to my email anymore I could enter a new email to update the email on my account.
