Summarize your bug All input freezes for about 2-5 seconds, then unfreezes for about 0.5 seconds, then freezes again for another 2-5 seconds. By freeze I mean the mouse and keyboard no longer control the game and in-game, my character will continue doing what I was last doing, ie. if I was holding w, the character will continue walking forward.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Playtest on various systems.

I have tried unplugging all USB devices other than my keyboard and mouse, as well as reinstalling the game.

@WarFish888 Interesting, never have happened on my end. In early days there was bug, when exiting some vehicles then you couldn't move mouse up or down..
Hmm, what is your full PC specs?

@Dedzigs RTX2060 SUPER, Ryzen 5 3600 cpu, 16GB 3200 Mhz ram.
It happens randomly, not triggered by anything in the game, always follows the exact same pattern. All input freezes for about 2-5 seconds, then unfreezes for about 0.5 seconds, then freezes again for another 2-5 seconds. I have reinstalled the game several times and tried every fix I've read about, but it continues to happen.

I don't remember this happening in the beta, but it has happened since the launch of the full game. I have reinstalled the game several times, I have tried using different USB ports, and unplugging every USB device other then my mouse and keyboard. I have never experienced any similar issues in any other game or software. The bug occurs multiple times in every match and happens randomly, not triggered by anything in the game. It can happen in vehicles or on foot and also when I am waiting to be revived, but does not happen in menu or deployment screens. Every time it happens it follows the exact same pattern, freezing for about 2-5 seconds, unfreezing for about 0.5 seconds and then freezing again for another 2-5 seconds, then it stops and if I am still alive I am able to control the game normally for a few minutes before it happens again.

I would greatly appreciate help with this as I have been unable to play the game for about 6 months since it launched.

@WarFish888 PC specs looks good, ram is dual-channel right? 2 sticks? Game is installed in SSD? And what about other games, do they work properly?
I just noticed, and most dudes in-game chat are saying the same, sometimes everything freezes for like 000,01 millisecond, it seems #4.0 have made this freezing stuff for some.. but it doesn't sound like this is the same issue your having.
Meanwhile try this:
Disk Cleanup, and clean cache files on C: drive.
Reinstall the game, +Document folder.
Reinstall GPU drivers with DDU. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Try older drivers. https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/drivers/results/181104/
About the newest update, i was getting around 90~115fps on #3.3, and now on #4.0 update around 100~135fps.
I didn't reinstall the game, just deleted; Documents\Battlefield 2042, folder.

MODE: Conquest 128 multiplayer.
SETTINGS: All low, 1080p resolution.
SPECS: i5-11400F / RTX 2060 6GB / 16GB RAM 3200 MHz / 970 EVO NVME.
DRIVERS: GeForce 496.13
Any smart person, developer, community manager? Please help this man.

@EA_Atic I am using 'Kogan GM-AIR Ultra Lightweight RGB 6400dpi Gaming Mouse' which does have a software. I have tried with three different keyboards that did not use any software. No matter what keyboard I use the issue kept happening. I will try a different mouse when I get a chance and let you know if it helps. Though I don't see how this would effect my keyboard input.

@Dedzigs Yes, my ram is dual channel, also I have had to disable XMP profiles to prevent blue screen errors whenever I play bf2042. I have tried installing the game on 3 different drives, but have it on my C drive ssd now because that is most stable. I have never experienced any simular issue in any other games. I have also tried rolling back my drivers to no effect, this has been happening for 6 months with many drivers that have come out in this time. I have deleted my battlefield 2042 documents folder and reinstalled the game at least 5 times now. I will try the disk clean up and cache file clean up and let you know.
