[PS5] In-Game Voice Chat Issue
Product: BATTLEFIELD 2042
Platform: PlayStation
Please specify your platform model: Sony PlayStation 5
What is your Gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name?: PSN ID: Birkeland | EA ID: BirkelandPSN
Which part of the game is the issue happening in?: All-out-Warfare & Portal (any game mode)
What were you doing when the issue occurred?: Using the in-game voice chat feature (not PlayStation party chat) speaking to other players who have joined my game session (or vice-versa) and when partied up with other users on different platforms (Xbox & PC).
Where did this issue occur?: All game modes, both playing the game and also voice chatting in the main menu.
When did this happen?: Has happened everyday since the July 6th v1.1 update.
How often does the bug occur?: Every time (100%), sometimes right away, and sometimes after a game or two.
How severe is your issue?: Medium-High, impacts ability to communicate with squad and/or friends on other platforms.
What happens when the bug occurs?: When teamed up with other friends or players (cross-platform squad play), we all use our voice microphones. The in-game voice chat sometimes works fine for a game or two, but invariably, after a few rounds, the other players/friends in my squad complain that my voice suddenly became distorted, crackling, and robotic. The only solution to the problem is to close the application, reboot the PS5, and rejoin my friends' session, or new session if I'm playing alone. Then the voice will work fine (for a while) again. I've tried other troubleshooting methods before closing & restarting the PS5 system such as; Just closing & reopening the BF2042 application, turning my headset off/on, leaving the game session and rejoining, leaving squad party then rejoining, using another headset, turning controller off/on, switching voice channels, switching controllers, turning VOIP off/on in options, turning microphone off/on in PS5 system menu, and cycling through squad/party leaders.
What do you expect to see?: I expect the voice to work consistently and not turn crackly after a few rounds of the game.
