Trouble ranking up guns

Im trying to rank up pistols and shotguns im getting a decent amount of kills but for multiple games no progress on the sliders on any guns how do I get around this as I want to unlock things but making no progress, is this a bug?

Hi Tigbom024,

What modes have you been playing to rank up these weapons? Not every mode in Battlefield 2042 provides full XP, or only allows weapon progression to a certain point, so it'd be handy to know.
