Unable to launch BF2042

I've recently come across a problem in launching 2042 through steam, as normal the ea app opens and prepares the game, then I get a popup that says I need to sign in with my ea account to activate bf2042.
After entering my details I get another popup that says my computer is offline?

It's the first time this has happened and the game has run smoothly so far.

I've also tried:
Reinstalling bf2042, (also verified the game files through steam.)
Reinstalling the EA app (also did app recovery)
Reinstalling the EA anti cheat
Restarted the system after every install.

My ea and steam accounts are linked.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are a couple of other things that you could try.

    • If you're using a VPN, please temporarily disable it and try again.
    • You can also try a Clean Boot to disable other programs that might be conflicting with the game:

How to clean or safe boot your computer

    I hope this helps.

This did not work, do you have any other solutions that might work?

  • Evening, I tried what you suggested, but it still didn't work.

Hey there, this error can usually be fixed by clearing the temp files and deleting the license folder:

    Delete EA License Files:

    • Make sure the EA app is closed.
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
    • Delete all files in the "License" folder.

    Please clear your temp files:

    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
    • Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
    • Your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
    • (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)
