VSync in-game setting no working since crash

since the crash I've used DDU & reinstalled latest 3 nVIDIA drivers & the game, but VSync in-game setting causes random heavy stuttering, however FPS Monitor shows consistent frame production, I forced VSync from nVIDIA Control Panel and this resolved the issue. Windows EventViewer doesn't report anything, BF2042 Crash Dump has nothing (maybe because I reinstalled?)

  • If you hover over the Vsync setting in game, it effectively says not to turn it on if your monitor has Gsync, etc. My monitor has Gsync and I've had in-game Vsync turned off since day 1.

You may also want to make sure in-game overlay is off in EA app (at least for troubleshooting).

  • Hey, @ProfessorBoreas  can you try a clean boot to see if any programs are messing with Battlefield 2042 and turn off any overlay programs, such as Discord or Nvidia experience.

Can you add a Dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you have?

Let me know if this works or not for you. 🙂

Well, the listed monitor supports Freesync. Did you turn Vsync off in game, as I suggested?

BTW - If you look at the bottom of that DXDIAG report you will see that nahimicsvc32 keeps crashing. This article suggests there could even be some malware involved. I would get that rectified, even if it is not directly causing your VSync issue.

  • Thanks, no because I am not using FreeSync, I am running stable settings for 75FPS. But I have turned it off now as it doesn't work so I am using the NVCP VSync setting as mentioned.

Okay I'll look at trying to fix the nahimicsvc32 service. Note I disabled it when doing the clean boot
