Hi Meaner_Dave
Could you send a DxDiag file so i can find some clues based on the errors it contains.Press the Windows and R keys at the same time.
Type DxDiag in the window that appears, then click Save all information and save the file wherever you want.
Then drag and drop the file here, then click Share - add the .txt file as an attachment.Thank you 😄

Hi Steeve_BF,
Glad someone responded as the tech support never answered my case I posted a few times now and says no current case's exist when I check. Here is the file you requested and thanks for looking at it.
Dave
p.s. When I tried to drag and drop the file it popped an error msg and said my file was not allow so I added it as an attachment.

Thank you.
I would like more information :
- Are you able to start your game ?
- Do you get a specific message when it closes?
- If you crash while playing, how long after starting the game does it crash?
Let me know 🙃 - Meaner_Dave2 months agoSeasoned Rookie
Like I said, some days are better than others. Today I just played online with my step dad and it crashed 5 minutes into the game. Then we played for almost 3 more hours and no crashes. But my event viewer always shows this when it does crash:
EAAnticheatService
The Game BF2042.exe exited unexpectedly, exit code: 0xC0000005
Yesterday when I played I got through 2 matches and then it failed on the 3rd match so I quit playing. Some days it crashes almost every game or match. Then I clear cache, reinstall or repair the EAAnticheat, turn overlays on/off, run sfc /scannow and even DISM with no problems found, flush DNS, try 20 different Nvidia drivers with DDU uninstall, and a host of other tips found online. Very random but happens way too often. Machine is only a few months old. After is crashes the game is completely gone from the task bar but EA app remains open and I can restart the game. No other error messages lately but otherwise I was getting the driver error messages from NVidia about DXGL crashes but them seemed to quit happening and I am using the latest driver now.
Thanks

Thank you for all these details, they are very helpful. I see that you have really tried everything.
Could you try this:
- Go to your Battlefield 2042 folder
- Right-click on “BF2042”
- Properties
- Compatibility
- Check “Disable full-screen optimization” and click Apply and OKThen start your game and let me know if it still crashes.

Ok, I tried what you suggested and it crashed on the first game I tried. I later played for 3 hours and had 3 or 4 more crashes and I also have the freezing for a few seconds thing again that was gone for a few weeks. It is so annoying that when you are going to shoot the enemy or even throw a grenade, then you freeze for a second or two and you get killed every time. :( When I fixed the stutter or freezing recently I turned off ambient occlusion and some other setting. I also, just today watched a video about the micro or mini freeze issue and disabled the two sound setting for the Nvidia driver in device manager but it did not help. I will keep trying to figure it out but in the end it will likely "fix itself" when Microsoft, NVidia, or EA fix the problem but nobody wants to take the blame for it. :)
I went and looked at my event viewer and this is the error message I found. It's different than the usual one so maybe it will help.

Just an added note of possible interest. I received a notice from Samsung Magician that a firmware update was available for my Samsung NVME SSD 990 Pro 4TB to update it to version 7B2QJXD7. Who knows, maybe my SSD could be part of all of my problems since I built this pc a few months ago. I will report back after I play games tomorrow afternoon.
MD :)

They aren't trying to fix it.... Support ignores messages and while everyone here on these forums try to help there is no good fix. This is just BAD PROGRAMMING. They have crappy programmers that can't develop software that works. The files corrupt themselves and have consistent page faults or kernel faults. This is a result of bad programming and nothing else. They really don't care because enough people can somehow get it work and for the few that it fails on it means nothing.

You are probably correct. I just played 3 64 player conquest maps in a row with no problems, then it started to fail and crashed to desktop. After getting back on and playing again it crashed hard and I had to power down the pc with the power button to recover. And to add to the issues, my wife's pc was nothing but a freezing and stuttering experience today. Yet the step dad had zero issues. It's a crap shoot.
