Windows Defender Threat Detection

So this is potentially a false positive. Have you recently performed a Windows security update?

There hasn't been a Security Update recently, according to Windows update.

Edit: I was looking in the wrong place, there was a Security Intelligence update for Defender on 03/09/25, so yeah the same day I posted the issue.

Could be any of these updates:

KB2267602 (Version 1.435.518.0) - 01/09/25

KB2267602 (Version 1.435.530.0) - 02/09/25

KB2267602 (Version 1.435.561.0) - 03/09/25

So, first, could you uninstall the latest update, “KB2267602” Once you've uninstalled it, launch your game. If it works without any issues, reinstall the update and create a Windows Defender exclusion for “EAAntiCheat.GameService.exe.”

Not able to uninstall the Definition Update unfortunately, and adding an exclusion for the EAAntiCheat.GameService.exe doesnt seem to be working.

Added both : C:\Program Files\EA\AC\EAAntiCheat.GameService.exe and the dll file.

Even though C:\Program Files\EA\AC\EAAntiCheat.GameService.exe is the only one mentioned in the detection.

Edit: I guess it's because Exclusions don't count for Real Time Protection, only scans.

Yes, I see, but after thorough analysis, I don't see anything in the latest update that could cause this. So even if we uninstall it, it won't change anything 🤔
Try uninstalling the anti-cheat software using the "EAAntiCheat.Installer" application available here > https://cdn.eaanticheat.ac.ea.com/EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe
Then restart your PC and relaunch the application to reinstall the anti-cheat software.

This didn't fix it either unfortunately. 

idk, the file isn't alive long enough for me to copy it and submit it to Microsoft either.

Problem resolved with EAAC Update.

After some verification, this is very likely a false positive.
The latest Defender update must have improved their detection system linked to the Vigorf.A trojan, which was referenced in the program in 2016.
For security reasons, the player is waiting for a response from an EA member so that he can confirm whether or not this is a false positive.
