For real. I had noticed every squad mate I played was a woman screaming at every little thing that happened in the game. So immersion breaking after the glory that was battlefield 1. It’s amazing how tone deaf they could be to the community that’s telling them what we want but they got shove identity politics to an audience that doesn’t play their games to begin with. At bear minimum let me change my quads genders for each class. Or just toggle the voice lines.

I got instantly perma banned on Steam for requesting the same just as many more other people. EA is still woke. They didnt learn anything after last 3 games and their controversies.

You know it's bad when it would be better to play without voice acting altogether than having to listen to this

Same Notice how the women voices are like 100x louder than men It’s so game breaking

Jeez am I a bad guy?
Please dont mob me but
Im sorry but I never understood why guys ever use female characters? I want to use a male character as I represent that character. I dont think I've ever used a female character in any game.
Not saying women aren't ever in the front lines but they mainly aren't.
I guess im just used to seeing men only as infantry in movies and its not until recently women are having those roles.
For me it breaks the immersion I dont find women very appealing in action movies and not only that but they are just not naturally physically stronger than men, in my mind it just doesnt make sense.
I find it hilarious even in movies when a 5 foot 2 100 pound women beats up a 6 foot dude with ease and throws them all around lol
Its a video game and people should have their choice i get it..
Not totally against it! I think having the option is cool but for me it breaks the immersion

Bottom line is that until this is fixed or there is a mod that removes this, I am not buying the game
- mostinho3 days agoNew Traveler
Fragile white knights. The game is literally like a female screaming simulator it’s insane. And the voice lines are copy pasted from 2042 they didn’t bother recording new ones that aren’t as annoying and high pitched

Mask, you’re seeing a very diluted version of my comment, it has been heavily edited so I can see why you perceive this as me trying to come across as “righteous”. I was responding to someone who said, essentially “we’re only asking about choice” while they were liking some other absolute filth that I was dealing with on another thread (pre-merge) and being disingenuous with their true views. Thankfully that has now been removed by mods and I’ve been able to water the comment down. What happened at Manchester airport is not for us to dissect and apply to gender politics, it was a very real and awful incident where people got hurt. My country is served by brave men and women and I simply won’t stand for gamers using it as some kind of case in point about why women should not be in the game (and also not even mildly insinuating the real police / “men” jobs which women fought hard for to be represented in) as that other person did . No need to whatabout it in gaming world. I think we can both agree on that? TBH dude that’s mostly the problem, a fair bit of feedback is being used as a vehicle to espouse actual discontent with women’s ‘place’ in gaming and society at large.
Anyway, it’s not that deep bro, the truth of the matter is we’re on two sides who are not the majority. There’s a gulf of people in between us who simply don’t care one way or the other, women are in plenty of shooter games and the masses barely flinched.
You’re totally fair to feel the way you do, but I don’t agree with you calling female gamers tourists in the community, as I feel it perpetuates unfortunately very real discrimination out there in the world (see: gamergate), but if that’s how you feel, whatever, don’t play the game or something? Hundreds of thousands even millions will keep plodding away on the battlefield, me included.
As adults, I think we can all live with it if it means someone gets to have a smile and say “hey that’s me!” that could not 10 years ago. It’s a game where everyone should feel welcome and able to suspend their disbeliefs, and no BF is not about “the most realism possible” we ramp C4 jeeps into tanks / helicopters man come on hahahaha. It’s not even a simcade. BF is an arcade game with an emphasis on team play and mechanised warfare.
Yes you’re absolutely valid to choose your gender, I wholly agree, and no asking for that doesn’t make you a bad person. Just don’t use things like realism, older iterations of the game, sensitivity to women’s screams or anything else to try and gatekeep a player base who, in 2025, are absolutely present and relevant. You’ve been fairly sincere with your views and that’s about all we can ask for!
Hopefully we can all get over it and all enjoy the game (and option to choose) on full release.
Maybe see you out there next weekend for some rush bro!

I will not be purchasing this game if the voice lines issue isn’t addressed. Give us an option to turn it off. They are currently game breaking.
- opes14 days agoRising Newcomer
this is an issue of immersion. it feels forced and subversive, even if it isn't. this game is nearly flawless. just give people option to represent themselves in the game. i want to feel like i am my soldier. that is all.

on the same page and I’ve been playing battlefield for over a decade. I am their core fan base and this game is completely unplayable. I already skipped bf5 and 2042 due to these issues and was hoping they’re finally back with something even half as good as bf1. What’s annoying is that if you play bf1 right now you realize they have the ability to make an immersive, visually stunning game but choose to give us this dull looking, female scream simulator instead to please their investors.
what a sad state of affairs. I’m back on bf1
- mostinho4 days agoNew Traveler
As a bf1 veteran coming from an extremely immersive game with realistic voice lines this game is unplayable. PLEASE EA give us the option to turn off these annoying voice lines. You can even release it as a secret option hidden deep in the menus if you’re scared of the negative publicity from the wokies.
we are your player base and we are begging to have a proper immersive game

You’re projecting as most self-perceived pseudo intellectuals often do and your readiness to brand the (valid) opinions on this topic as some kind of hate speech is disgustingly disingenuous. Moral high ground my **bleep**. Just give us the option to choose gender or toggle to remove male/female voice lines and be done with it.
- MirrorMask_XIII4 days agoSeasoned Novice
Did you even play the beta?
- MirrorMask_XIII4 days agoSeasoned Novice
I’m a married man. I love women. But, I was sold a realistic war game and the truth is that women will never be (and should never be) on the frontlines against predominantly male combatants. It’s immersion breaking and distracting. At least add a toggle or even better, sell a BF3/BF4 voice pack and I’ll gladly buy it.
- General_YSS4 days agoNew Novice
No! Because we have about 1,5% woman in active combat so we need at least 90-100% in our BF6 gaming experience! I want it to be woke and DEI! I want it in a way, that non-gaming political activists will love it!!!

Why?
After this change, this topic stopped showing up in the "most liked" list.
If there is no hope for this change, it would be nice to let people know. - TogyDon4 days agoNew Novice

As many have stated it would be awesome to have options. I think toggling the voiceovers you would like to hear (Male only/Female Only/Both) would be a easy fix. Additionally being able to select the gender you want to play as would be awesome as well. I like the emersion in games where I can feel like I'm playing a character that resembles me.
- KlootonicPlague4 days agoNew Novice
They should just make it so all the soldier classes default as male but that we can change the gender of our character to female if someone is female or if someone just wants to. It isn't rocket science. That's how they should have defaulted things in bfv as well but apparently it's too hard to think of such simple solutions.

I like your optimism, I might hop on the beta next weekend to check for updates. I’ll admit there has been a lot of improvements compared to the last entry. But I’m sure you know as well as I do for this game meet the mark of it’s predecessors (besides the last two) it has to stay grounded and true to it’s core fundamentals.
- vs33irxjiig74 days agoSeasoned Newcomer
lol I was thinking this same thing. How common are woman out in the front lines shouting like this to where they'd actually put it inside the game? They usually take the most obvious common things from WAR and put them in these games, and its just awkwardly forced in there, like a manager on the dev team needed this to feel better.
