Response to Rush Feedback on Community Beta Debrief

Hello,

I hope this message gets to the Battlefield team.

I want to talk about Rush, I'm glad the Battlefield team is listening to our feedback and is responding.

I've played Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and of course the Battlefield 6 Beta. I have played a lot more battlefield games in the past, but those are the ones I want to focus on.

In the community debrief the Battlefield team said that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was the golden age of the Rush mode. The rush mode in Bad Company 2 was very fun, but I think having an emphasis on BC2 also doesn't give credit how great BF4 and BF3 did Rush. I do hope we will see come vehicles in Rush for Battlefield 6 like we had in BC2, BF3, BF4. Oasis and Valparaiso were my favorite Rush maps from BC2, they had scale and vehicles.

The Battlefield team mentioned that having a higher player count contributes to "Overwhelming defenses, stalled frontlines". However for a lot of Battlefield players, this is what makes the Rush mode fun. Meat grinders such as Nasha Strike (BF4), Operation Locker (BF4), Operation Metro (BF3), and Zavod 311(BF4) are still some of the beloved maps to date and there are still many players playing those maps on Rush even today such as myself.

The overwhelming defense and stalled frontlines are some of the aspects that make the mode fun, yes it's very challenging to overcome an MCOM with a great defense, but it's also incredibly rewarding when your team works together to break their defense and arm the MCOM after countless tries during the match. Some of the most memorable moments I had playing in Rush were arming the MCOM when we had 1 ticket left on our team as attacker and finally taking over that sector after countless tries.

The overwhelming defense the defending team has, forces the attacking team to work together and to push in synchrony, it forces teamwork and makes it really rewarding after multiple attempts. Rush is all about teamwork, if you're not coordinating with your team, using smoke grenades, providing covering fire, and setting up spawn beacons for your squad. You have a much higher chance to lose as attackers. It also makes thinking outside the box such as flanking while your team is getting decimated and helping them take an MCOM incredibly rewarding.

Also I do want to point out in the Battlefield 6 Beta the MCOMs were too close to each other, so it made me feel like I was really just defending two objectives at once, which is unlike previous Battlefield games where your team worked together and communicated to set up proper defenses at each MCOM.

I would love to see another Rush map in Battlefield 6 become a fan favorite such as Operation Metro or Operation Locker.

I'm suggesting to please consider 24v24 Rush.

Rush is my favorite game mode, it's all I play. I still play Rush on Battlefield 4 servers till this day.

As a Battlefield Veteran that has been playing since Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, I'm excited and looking forward to playing Battlefield 6.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Yea I really feel like they scaled down rush way too much in the bf6 beta, mcoms too close, both bases too close to the mcoms so theres not really enough "no mans land" to have a dynamic frontline, making flanking way less effective and some of the mcoms were placed in such a way that you could shoot at them from the defending base and you had no cover on that side as attacker.

If they place the mcoms further apart it also allows to have more players bc you wont have the whole team in basically one area.

  • I have to throw my two cents into this, I disagree with creating meat grinder maps. I would like to see how rush plays out on some of the larger maps too but stalled front lines is not as fun when you're just throwing tickets against a brick wall. It's frustrating when it feels like nobody's getting anywhere.

I will say I really liked the older games bringing out areas of maps you wouldn't get to see during conquest, Damavand peak comes to mind with the great environmental variety you experience across the sectors as well as the awesome base jump. I think 24-32 players feels right in rush as it is and community servers can bump it up as they want. Breakthrough does suit higher player counts better. I think moving the mcoms around would be worthwhile to try out, it would be really cool if portal lets the community move them.
