Assignment changes.
So soon to come are the assignment updates:
We’ve seen all your feedback about the challenges and their criteria, the team’s working on a series of improvements to make challenges more straightforward to understand and faster to complete. Given the scale of challenges, these changes will roll out over at least two updates. Some examples of what we are currently considering are:
- Class Assignment - Assault 1 - Get kills while using the Adrenaline Injector - 30 to 3
- Class Assignment - Engineer Expert 3 - Repair Vehicles in a Match - From 6000 to 1000
- Weapon Assignment - Deadeye 2 - Get headshot kills over 200m with Sniper Rifles - from 150 to 5
What's the actual point in keeping them? If you're gonna go from one extreme to the next?
Why 5 headshot kills from 150?Just make it none there's quite literally no point in having it if it gets done in 5 minutes of a game.
30 injector kills didn't even take that long, but now you're only gonna require 3? Again, what's the point?
Headshots and vehicle repair are excessive(along with a few others like incendiary shotgun damage) but 5 headshots, and 1000 repair is pathetic for a "challenge".
Most of the challenges aren't that bad and just require time played in the game to get it. But its the ones that need to be done in 1 match like 6k repairs, or 30 headshots that people are complaining about with fair reason. And perhaps need to be nerfed slightly down. Like getting 3k repairs in a match is a challenge but not impossible to do if you stick with vehicles all match.
They're "challenges" theyre meant to be challenging to gain a reward. But i also understand the frustration. I don't think important tools and gadgets should be locked behind challenges. Imo they should be locked behind XP earned for that class.
Want c-4 for Recon?, earn 50k xp and unlock it.
Want the fancy sniper, earn 150k xp as recon.
Without progression towards unlocks this game will get stale very quickly.
These proposed changes are insanely over the top,
What about those of us who like to work towards doing things that take time so that it feels worth doing? I love having something to work towards in the game while playing. And if im getting the limited amount of challenges done in 5 minutes of a game im gonna be done too quick and move onto the next game.
By all means, have easier unlocks on "in 1 match" assignments, but dont just nerf everything into the ground to the point where it's just pointless to even have them locked anymore.
Or have half a dozen harder challenges than the rest for unique skins, or something that isn't important to have.
Just my opinion, as bad as some of the challenges are, i really do hope they don't ruin them by making them pointless to have.
