Banned on Steam by EA moderators

Good morning,

I was given a permanent ban for politely discussing the public behavior of some developers. The ban was specifically for "spamming." I feel that the ban was unjustly levied against my account and directly impacts the quality of customer experience. I am still considering the purchase of this game because I due not believe the distasteful opinions are the unanimous voice of EA and it's associated partners. I do expect to have the ability to give feedback and engage in the community hub in good faith as a customer.

Its sad to see the amount of censorship on Steam. I read my email for receiving awards in threads and posts that have been deleted by moderators. Threads inviting players to play to game. Threads and posts supporting the loss by fellow community members. Conversations about expected and appropriate conduct by moderators and developers of products we want top buy. Even the disappearing of vague conversation.

Ban Reason:
Spamming.]

This is a request for assistance in resolving the standing of my account on Steam in the BF6 community hub. Thank you for your time.

I was banned from the BF6 community discussion board. I recently posted an invitation to play with others. I received a couple awards, responses for this post and even sent friend requests. The post was deleted. I posted about disappearing posts and threads and was banned. I intend to buy and play BF6. I requested a refund for the $100 version based on reasons for consumer advocacy. I love BF and Steam.

Thank you for the reply. The refund was processed. That's not the point. I was unjustly banned. I was not spamming. All of my threads are unique. None of my posts are reparative within the OP. I want my ban lifted. I was believe I was censored. I believe moderators are suppressing consumer sentiment. I believe the thread I was banned over was about disappearing threads and posts. I received an email about awards and could not view them in context.

This game uses a separate account and activation system that we can't access at Steam Support. We have no control over any ban they may have applied.

Please contact the following support team - they'll be your best resource for resolving a game ban:

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply. I have determined the reason for my ban. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198036538416/moderatormessages/86383101/

This is censorship. A developer has publicly expressed a controversial opinion. Why am I and many others not afforded the opportunity to discuss the issue? Obviously condoning violence is a violation of TOS. Why cannot we as informed consumers bring this forward in discussion?

"If you believe this ban was issued by mistake, please contact Steam Support." Yes, I believe this ban was issued by mistake. I think calling it a mistake is charitable. I was not spamming. Its censorship. My post wasn't even specific enough to understand the subject unless you knew the context.

Thank you

Hello,

This community hub ban was issued by the developer's moderation staff.

Developers follow the Global Rules & Guidelines, but they may also have specific rules regarding what content is acceptable in their game hub.

We won't be reversing their decision, so we recommend contacting their support team for further information and to appeal:
Battlefield™ 6 support

If you have any further questions, please let us know - we will be happy to assist you.

  • This is probably not the place to discuss it, but I think the "spamming" ban reason is just some of the predefined options, as there was none better. In any case, the BF6 discussion rules on Steam are pretty clear, quote: "No targeting staff. This includes role tagging and directly mentioning staff, admin, CM, or Mod names to get their attention." and I tend to think this was the ban reason, judging from your description. Either way, it's better to try to resolve this via the official support than here on the forum.

  • If I remember correctly the last thread about a Steam ban the poster was directed back to Steam.

Thank you for the direction. I am just trying to get some assistance, thank you for your time.

  • I followed up via the official support and I am in good standing, (no penalty history), on the EA BF6 forums but there is no mention or status of standing on Steam. As you can read above. I was directed by Steam to EA. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thank you for your time.

  • Today, I submitted an appeal vie EA for the community hub on Steam. No e-mail or indicator received. There is no appeals process on Steam, they did not place the ban on my account, and the BF6 community hub is moderated by EA. I am seeking assistance. Thank you to anyone who can point me in the right direction, have advice or can elevate my attempts to the right person. Again, thank you for your time.

  • It's probably a mod on the BF 6 steam page, you'd have to hit up them (steam forum / community support). I mean official EA could pass it down, but you'd have to have a lot of clout / take time for EA support to send word to Steam but usual support protocol  says if you are good in EA forums, it's not in my backyard /NIMBY and go talk to steam . . . .if you have the good standing from EA, you can use that when following up on steam

Yes, I believe you are correct. The authority over the Steam BF6 community hub is isolated from Steam support and EA forums. Today I replied directly to the ban notification. Maybe some of my stumbling through this and posting about it will assist someone else. These notifications can be found in the 'Community messages" on the right side of the page near the margin. Approaching my first month of being banned. It has been disappointing. I certainly don't believe my actions warrant a permanent ban.

I would like to make an appeal to my permanent ban. I am in good standing with EA with a 0 event history. This is my first ban on Steam, and have reached out to both Steam and EA in attempts to an appeal. I am not sure if this is the appropriate venue for an appeal but I am seeking assistance where I seem to be able.]
