"Console-Only Crossplay" to Bridge the Gap Between Controller Players

Hi Battlefield Dev Team,

I would like to propose a refinement to the current Crossplay system that could significantly improve the experience for console players.

The Current Challenge:

Currently, when players toggle "Crossplay OFF," they are restricted to their specific platform’s ecosystem (PlayStation only or Xbox only). While this avoids the advantages of PC input, it drastically reduces the matchmaking pool, leading to longer queue times for high-player-count modes.

The Proposal: "Console-Only Crossplay" (Input-Based Matchmaking)

I suggest introducing an option that allows PlayStation and Xbox players to play together in a unified pool while remaining separate from PC servers.

Why this makes sense:

1. Identical Input Methods: Both Sony and Xbox players use controllers. Unifying these groups maintains a level playing field without the precision gap of PC.

2. Healthy Player Density: Combining the two console ecosystems ensures that 128-player servers fill quickly without needing PC players.

3. Player Agency: This gives players a "middle ground" option instead of being forced into full crossplay or empty lobbies.

Technical Suggestion:

The system should use Input Detection. If a console player connects a Keyboard and Mouse, they should be filtered into the PC/Full Crossplay pool to maintain integrity.

Thank you for your time and for everything you do for the franchise.

Best regards,

ASSAFOS_MAXIMUS
