Battlefield 6 - Smaller Regions Are Being Left Behind (Bots & Matchmaking)

The beta was everything I hoped Battlefield 6 would be. It has been a while since I had some true battlefield non-stop action, full servers, chaos, and teamwork everywhere. I had queues just to join my friends in matches, and it felt alive.

After launch, it’s been nothing short of disappointing. I keep seeing all this incredible content online, but then I realise… It’s just not the same in smaller regions like South Africa.

Here’s what I think is happening (and I’m sure the devs can pull the data to confirm).

We have an active community here, not millions, but easily more than enough to have servers full like it was in Beta. The problem is how matchmaking handles that. Instead of those players being pushed into a handful of populated servers (like during the beta, which was mostly Conquest)

Matchmaking spreads players too thin across too many servers. If you limited it to a handful of persistent servers per region, they’d stay full like in the beta. The current instant matchmaking (1-5 seconds) prioritises speed over quality, and the result is empty, bot-filled games.

I’m sick of bots.

Bots ruin the flow, they react instantly to players' gadgets, gear and vehicles, and the experience doesn’t feel authentic or fun anymore. The few moments when a full server happens are amazing, but they’re rare and short-lived.

Portal doesn’t fix it either. Servers move around, region filters don’t work properly, and hardly anyone can find or join the same ones, nor do they even know about it.

DICE, don’t let smaller regions miss out on what Battlefield truly is.
