Battlefield player for over 15 years. I quit.

As a player who has played since the early battlefield 3 days I’m officially done and fed up with this cod knockoff the devs call “Battlefield 6.”

Nearly 6 months since the full release of the game and yet the community feedback is being ignored clearly by the developers with the same major issues still in the game despite it being supposedly “fixed” in multiple updates. Not to mention the overall direction the game has gone in is the complete opposite to the core of a true battlefield game.

MAPS: This is one of the main points the community have been screaming about since the release. Most of them are way too small with no real detail or finesse to them. The other maps are not big enough as well with lack of buildings and other infrastructure. Lack of cover and just 80% open area that’s just poorly detailed and very lazy in my opinion. I have mentioned previously about remastering old maps from battlefield 3 and 4 and a fair few agreed with this but I highly doubt it would happen. Whatever maps that are currently in the making for season 3 I have no faith they will be any better.

HIT REGISTRATION: Another major problem in the game that has been supposedly “fixed” which I can confirm it definitely has NOT.

AUDIO: Still inconsistent, enemies sprinting towards you will be silent until the very last moment when they're about to shoot you. Happens way too much when you are trying to take an objective on conquest of escalation. Teammate footsteps are loud even though they are a good 10 meters away from you.

Still dying around walls or any type of cover just frustrates me as half of my deaths are from it every game. I’m on 5 latency most games so connection isn’t the problem.

MATCHMAKING: This is the biggest issue for me and the last straw for stepping away from this game. I am sick to death of getting teamed up with the most non objective based players on the game who do absolutely nothing to help you win the game. My squad mates are always in the bottom 8 of the leaderboards, having to play solo now as near enough all my mates have stopped playing this game for the very same reasons. There’s no reward for playing the game properly anymore it’s a run for kills.

MOVEMENT: COD style movement on the game is a joke, the constant jumping and sliding rewarding kills is not tactical at all it’s just pathetic and doesn’t represent battlefield at all. I wanted it removed as many others did, still in the game.

REDSEC: copy and paste of warzone enough said.

Personally I think this game has gone past the point of return. We have not been listened to and I don’t think we will. Most true players have already quit and I really can’t blame them. With bots now filling lobbies most games just give me another reason to stop playing. If the devs care they need to get back to the basics and educate themselves about what a battlefield game truly is. Look at 3 and 4 for example.

Battlefield has lost its identity and is in a decline. I would have thought mistakes were learnt after 2042. I think major changes are required.

Agree 100%. It's only Battlefield in name now. To EA the game is just a cash cow to extract money from COD style players. I feel the game will never be fixed and probably lose most of it's loyal player base by Christmas. Only my opinion but if they can't even fix the orange unlock dots issue, what hope is there?

  • Sadly. I have to agree with most of the things you mentioned here. I hope the developers have a wake up call and realize how the game went from best selling to less active players than previous generations of their competitor’s games.
