BF6 feedback - please do not duck up this title too.

Hello everyone, bf veteran here.
I'm pretty concerned about the state of the game and some simple stuff that are not addressed or even thought about.
I wont talk about the map/content situation, which is pretty clear is not enough.

For every bf title we had something more, something new, chapter by chapter, that improved the overall experience of the game.
BF4 from BF3 had the levolution
BF1 from BF4 had the behemoth to balance the game
BFV from BF1 had fortification and drop in (v1 - barrage and such)

BF6 have nothing new, instead have a system that doesn't permit to turn the game, if you're in a losing side it's pretty sure you'll lose, without any chance to change the outcome.
BF6 (and 2042) has no platoon (which always has been a core part of every battlefield title).

Battlefield is about community.

Sadly it's pretty clear that the main bone structure of BF6 is the worst title of BF history so far, BF 2042. UI, look and feel, and direction is kinda the same. Yes, it's bf2042 on steroid, but still.

First thing is about the aestetic of the game. It's getting more and more similar to BF2042, you said you heard the lesson, but probably not enough. It's a military game and uniform and stuff should be military inspired, what's the point of having all these high contrast colors around?

It's nice that in red zone you cannot hit tanks and stuff around, but why FROM the red zone they are able to shot to the whole map? Wouldn't be better to have a red zone without sight on the rest of the map? Pretty simple to think about. In almost every game there are people camping with tank in the main starting area and nothing we can do about.

Why there are not accessible building where you can parachute on and let people camp there? This was an issue even in the beta on cairo map (lucky for us that was addressed) but there are many buildings on the empire state map which are not accessible and yet people can parachute there and camp the whole game ruining the experience for the others. And you cannot even try to reach it with the ladder. You have to wait for an heli, if you're lucky, and go there, losing a lot of time in the process.

What's the point of putting flir and nightvision scope if not for night maps? Most of the map are full of snipers with those scope, camping on hills shoting at white stuff from away, not even taking part of the concept of conquest, which is the core element of battlefield.

The netcode and ttk since launch is getting worse instead of improving, how is that every update is a bit worse? Constantly get killed while behind walls.

Why there is no auto-balance in between the matches (on portal) and there is no way to change the side.
But when you join on a friend and you're in queue in the party you suddently find yourself on the other side. It's really that difficult to think and fix those things? No one of the people that tested the game came out with those thoughts? I really cannot believe it.

Why change the RPG bullet drop? Doesn't make any sense to have a rocket going upward instead of downward during the ride.

Why is so freakin difficult to make a simple server browser, with filters that actually works and being able to list the server for people in it/name/ping. Even bf 2042 had the chance to add favorite server here we're back to the start, probably we have to wait another year to have stuff already addressed in previous title.

Why every game the official server close and start another? Why there are no official persistent servers?

Why the game is overall getting worse instead of getting better?

  • I agree with some of your points, but I think it’s important to stay fair as well.

About platoons, they already confirmed that it’s coming back this year, so at least that’s being addressed.

I also don’t think BF6 is the worst Battlefield. It’s definitely not perfect and still needs a lot of work, but honestly, it already feels much more like Battlefield than 2042 ever did. You can see they are trying to move back toward the BF3/BF4 formula, even if it’s not fully there yet.

For skins, I completely agree. They should be much more military-focused. There has been some improvement, but there’s still work to do, especially with Pax Armata skins that sometimes feel out of place.

Vehicle camping in HQ is a real issue though, and I fully agree with you there. There should definitely be a way to deal with those players instead of them being completely safe while shooting across the map.

For inaccessible buildings, I agree too, but I think in some cases it’s more of a map design limitation. Fixing it without breaking the flow or balance of the map might be more complicated than it looks.

About night/thermal scopes, I personally don’t see it as a big problem. It’s an attachment that costs a lot of points, so it makes sense that it gives a strong advantage in certain situations.

RPG behavior, I agree — the current trajectory feels off and doesn’t really make sense.

And finally, for servers and matchmaking, I also prefer the old Battlefield system. Persistent servers and a proper server browser were much better and gave more control to players.

Overall, yes, there are still issues, but I don’t think the game is going in the wrong direction. It just needs more time and adjustments to really reach the level of older Battlefield titles.

  • Well I'm not saying bf6 is the worst battlefield. 2042 is the king and I hope it will stay king forever.
What I'm saying is that the more they apply patches and stuff in the shop, the more get close to it. I was stunned when I saw the girl with rasta and orange t-shirt skin, kinda like the woodie skin of bf2042. And it will never go away. That's my concern.

Yeah I red about platoon and I really hope they will address it. But also in every single patch they talked about improving netcode and it's kinda the opposite. For they high building complete destruction would be enough, but apparently they want to keep it this way. On Cairo was a huge problem also because there were no heli to reach the roof. But also waiting 5 minutes to have an heli to try to kill some campers is really weird and it shift focus from the main goal of the game, have fun and playing objectives.

Also another thing I missed to say is about the respawn system. Trying to hit on friend people on the map when they are one on another or nearby an objective is extremely frustrating. On  BF V or BF 1 or even BF4 you could spawn on the group clicking on the names on the bottom left corner, which make much more sense instead of getting crazy to hit the spot when people is not in combat.

Not to mention some respawn which are absolutely crazy, in front of an enemy, behind an enemy, meanwhile someone is already shooting at you and so on.

My finger are crossed but I'm kinda worried anyhow.
