Bot deaths don't count, but bot kills do?

Agreed: literally just played a game today where as usual players are spear heading the fight on the margins of the map on Columbia Heights: had close to a ten on them, and got killed 2 or 3 times.
None of the players I killed registered. I don't mind not having bot kills counting but maybe don't register anything at all then, or make two K/D ratios or even just the players' count?
Who in the company thought it'd be smart to proceed that way when they could have just erased everything? It's not just a technical limitation, it really was possible to just remove everything. Why do we get to keep all of the times I died in Casual Breakthrough in my K/D ratio throughout the past two weeks I played so far?
