Breaking down everything bad about BF6 progression

So the progression in this game is terrible on so many levels. I am gonna try and break down everything bad about the challenges, and how they negatively impact the overall experience. Having poor progression can make or break a games player retention. If you can't get motivated to progress in the game, then players aren't gonna stick around.

Several of the class challenges are bad. For starters, classes should have their own respective levels. Equipment shouldn't be locked behind challenges that force you into playing ways that you don't enjoy the game.
Another issue is that allot of these challenges don't make a lot of sense, or they are so painfully frustrating to do that you don't even want to try.

  1. Assists using the smoke grenade with support.
This is 1 of the worst challenges I have ever seen in all my years of FPS. For starters, why are you gonna shoot a smoke grenade, with the intention of someone else reviving them, when you are the one who job it is to revive? You are basically saying to shoot down players with a smoke grenade, and then wait for another support to revive them. In this time, the downed players are gonna wonder what the hell is going on and just bleed themselves out.
Another way to get assists is by shooting teammates with smoke grenades so they shoot enemy players. You are telling players to blind teammates. This is basically sabotaging/trolling players for a challenge.
This challenge makes no sense, and has no place in the game. It should be "teammates revived using smoke" which would track when you are a teammate revives someone in your smoke cloud. This teaches players about tactically using the smoke to help a downed player.
  2. Kill stunned enemies using the assault class
If you have used the stun grenade in this game, you know its basically a waste of equipment. It lasts about 2 seconds. Say you throw it in a room, and it lands on the enemies foot. By the time you have walked into the room, the effect has worn off. To make it even worse, the stun barely impacts you. So the enemy can still easily outplay you, despite being impacted by the stun. I'm not saying make it impossible to defend yourself. I just think the one who is stunned should be at a noticeable disadvantage. The only way you can do this challenge, is by hoping a teammate stuns the enemy you are actively shooting.
To fix this challenge, increase the stun length, and make assists count as well.
  3. All challenges that need to be done in a single match
Completing challenges in a single match is bad. You are forcing players to spend a hole match doing something they probably don't want to. Then, when they don't get the challenge, it's a match they didn't have fun on, and all that time wasted. No one wants to spend a hole match running round with a repair torch.
The fix would be to make the challenge value slightly more, but allow it to be progressed across multiple matches. If players can see they are working towards their challenges, even when a game didn't go their way. They will be a lot more satisfied.
  4. Win game challenges
The reason this is bad is that you incentivise players rage-quitting. It should be "complete games" instead. Forcing lower skilled players to be carried, goes against Battlefields casual nature. Again also referring to my previous point. If players aren't getting a tick on their challenge, then they feel like their time isn't being valued.
  5. Premium event challenges
Charging for event items blows my mind. Not even FTP games do this. Most of the player base probably paid for the game aswell. Events are a time you can get a lot of players online at once, but when players see this, their motivation is instantly going to be killed. They will lose the incentive to even bother. This is a premium priced game, and you are charging for event items just before Christmas!
The more time players spend in your game, the more of a connection they build with the game. Then, once they build that connection, they will be more inclined to spend money. You can use events to get players more engaged with the product. If people don't want to progress the event because they have to own the premium battle pass. They aren't spending as much time with the game. Not to mention, this just screams red flags. If this is the games monetization now, then what are players expecting in the future? This is not how you retain players. You got to spend money to make money.

I am sure there is more, and you guys can leave them in the comments. I hope DICE reads this, and takes the feedback onboard. If the progression sucks, then the game isn't going to retain players. With modern games, players always like to be progressing towards stuff. For many challenges in BF6, I just can't be bothered. They either increase so slowly, and I am playing in a way that I don't enjoy. Or they require me to play a way that doesn't even make any logical sense. It's like the person who designed the challenges, has never even played battlefield before and doesn't know how the game works.
