Bug: Missiles and laser pointer.

Dear Dice,

Respectfully, Laser Pointers are broken when combined with certain missiles, such as the MR Missile, against air targets.

A laser designated target will receive no warning of an inbound MR Missile (possibly others too), have no way to escape through countermeasures and is almost a guaranteed one-shot kill.

Here's a video by a popular streamer highlighting the issue.

Due to the sizes of some maps, armored vehicles are able to camp on one side of the map and lock onto a painted target, killing it with a single shot and near impunity.

As an example; A laser designated target will receive no warning of an inbound MR Missile, have no way to escape through countermeasures and is thus a guaranteed unavoidable one-shot kill. Moreover the lock and fire range is huge, covering the whole map and beyond the playable boundary. This feature massively out-classes the AA's capabilities.

I've given this some more thought and I actually agree with a lot of the comments. 2 problems as I see it:

1) The painter should only take effect when a player is actively tracking the target vehicle with it and there is a direct line of sight.

2) The pilot should get a warning that the missile has been fired, as for all other missiles -  A change of tone and "Incoming".

IFVs like the Bradley have taken on armored vehicles like the T-72, T-80, and T-90 from the Gulf War to present day Ukraine. Go look up Bradley versus Russian tank and you'll find many, not a few, but many videos of Bradleys fighting tanks and winning.

I do agree IFVs should have limits on their ability to target and kill jets. I think part of this is how targets are spotted and "painted" in the game. A SOFLAM shouldn't be able to designate any target on the tripod. An actual player should be required for that. Itbshould be a manual laser paint if the target. The drone should require a player using it to paint a target too. Further, the drone should only be able to paint a ground target.

the problem is 100 % with the painting and nothing else, you paint someone for 1 sec and then they are magically painted for the next 15 seconds even behind cover, thats the broken part of it, not the missile or how its supposed to work

just make it work like it did in bf4, painting only active when an actual laser is pointed at the target and give chopper's ecm to defend, both realistic and balanced, but since they are trying to choke out the vehicle play they probably made these "bugs" with intentions, there is no way they are this incompetent
