Console and PC should not mix...
Simply put, I blame a very small percentage of PC players who download hacks to be used in games, including Battlefield 6.
To the best of my knowledge, unless the console itself is hacked, which is not an easy thing to do, consoles, generally speaking, will not have or use game hacks. You could dispute this but my experience with "Cross-Play On or Off" tells me I am right. ;-)
During both of the beta weekends, I felt I was the victim of wallhack deaths. It seems readily apparent that if you poke your head ever so slightly around the edge of a boulder and within one second are headshot that the shooter was most likely using a wallhack and could see your position at all times. I have experienced this in other FPS games over the years.
So, I Googled Battlefield 6 wallhacks and, sure enough, right there for all to see on YouTube were posted Battlefield 6 Open Beta wallhack cheats from the beta gameplay.
Here's my point:
I believe that, come October, there will be enough console players so that I can use "Crossplay: OFF" and still not wait a long time to get into a game. Sadly, this would also remove our brethren Xbox players, with whom I have no problem.
So, it would be my desire that Battlefield 6 Crossplay, if not already done, be Console-Only and exclude PC. It is also my opinion that the Mouse has a distinct advantage over Controller (and this recognition is why an assist exists for consoles). Using your thumbs is far more difficult than using your whole hand on a mouse. Again, this is my experience speaking.
Therefore, it's my humble opinion, that crossplay on-or-off should mean "consoles-only" versus "all platforms." If this is already so, that's good.
