I personally don't see why they wouldn't allow PC players to do the same. Battlefield 2042 had it and I can still find a game within 2 minutes at any time of the day.

I also still actively play BF2042. I can confirm with 100% certainty that there is a big difference when playing without console players, i.e. with Cross-play turned off. The difference is most noticeable in close-quarters infantry combat. This is where console auto-aim comes into its own. In the beta version of BF6, the situation was even worse. Here, auto-aim was also noticeable in vehicles and, newly, at long range for infantry. It's a really awful feeling to be forced to play with someone who has an artificial advantage and unequal conditions for controlling the game. The Battlefield series has always been without cross-play, which made it unique and, in a way, fair, as long as your opponent wasn't cheating. I have nothing against cross-play being an option here, but it seems to me like positive discrimination that I am forced to tolerate.

I think we should first of all aim to balance the different inputs, instead of splitting the player-base. There are many players using controller on PC. This will be a problem for PC players regardless of cross-play.
I personally will for the most part play with friends using different inputs. If the aim assist is as bad as you describe here then I think that needs to be addressed.
There should be no rotational or snapping assist in BF6 as far as I know. Only aim-assist slow-down effect while aiming at the target, making the aim a bit more "sticky". Sounds like this effect should be reduced slightly. More importantly the recoil should be the same for all inputs. During the beta the recoil was noticeably less while playing with a controller. This is in my opinion very bad for the game. It makes the weapons feel different, and it allows controller players to build the weapons differently as they are not that dependent on attachments for reducing recoil.
We can still have the option to turn off/on cross-play, but the inputs still needs to be properly balanced. I really hope this does not become another game that heavily favors controller players (as it does in CoD).- Macfun_CZ2 months agoRising Scout
Thank you for mentioning PC gamers with controllers as another category of gamers.
I agree that it is important to balance the various inputs of gaming peripherals. However, I think this is unrealistic. In the case of Battlefield, CoD, etc., these are highly competitive games and should be set up like sports. Similarly, in sports, it is not possible to fairly achieve competition between incompatible teams. That is why there are separate categories for men, women, youth, or disabled athletes, for example. I may be biased, but cross-play seems to me like forcing men (mouse + keyboard) to compete with women (game controllers) in the weightlifting category. For this purpose, I would have to come up with a nonsensical handicap for men or, conversely, a nonsensical advantage for women to make it possible. There will always be someone who says that the advantage is too small or, conversely, that the handicap is too big.
