Crossplay victory for us

Im all for Console vs Console and PC vs PC. 

We tried it in 2042. Something doesn't sync right with console and PC. I would rather play with PC as I am sure console would rather play with console. I really wish they would turn crossplay off on PC to start with.

I honestly didn't mind the concept of the crossplay in 2042. It made it so that there were generally always servers available no matter which platform you played on. But the implementation, between tickrate issues, lag, autoaim concerns, dying behind cover or all at once, etc were all often-reported issues in the 2042 boards. If limiting crossplay resolves those issues, then I'm more for it. I just hope that it doesn't kill long-term playability.

Previous communication from battlefield including devs have stated it works differently than how it’s explained in the ign article and to be honest they make more sense than this, I’m not sure how a game can have a option to turn crossplay off yet not actually turn it off and leave it on for console only! Previous devs have said that off will be off and only matchmake with people on your own platform and on will prioritise console only and only add PC players into the pool of players if it can’t find enough console players to fill the lobby, hopefully ea can clarify!

We need input device selection, Say no to automation, say no to controllers.  They cannot reliably keep PC players from using 3rd party devices and software with controllers honest.  Controller automation cheating is rampant and across all platforms.  The dev's made huge mistake allowing controller for PC.

I'm glad there's an option to disable crossplay. The game developers say they're doing their best to prevent cheating and I applaud them for that.

They're truthful about it being impossible to stop cheating and that most cheating happens on PC. So I appreciate the option for console players to disable PC crossplay because I've lost all faith in PC anti-cheat technology.

This is great if it's true, console players should only play against console players.

I understand that this may have been incorrect, and if a console player turns crossplay off, they'll actually only matchmake with their own platform (presumably in a crossplay-off pool, like with BF2042).

It'd be nice to get official confirmation from EA/Dice though (maybe I've just not seen it), to clear it up.

Honestly, it makes perfect sense to combine the consoles as a separate crossplay group.

ElliotLH​ thanks for clarifying how console crossplay works. It sounds like there won't be a strictly Xbox vs PlayStation crossplay option after all.

At console players have the option to turn PC crossplay off.
