The good thing is that the game isn't fundamentally broken. Like they have the best tasting cake in the world and using junk icing, ya know that chemical over sugared over octuple hydrogenated x hydrogenated corn syrup that they use in cheap cupcakes that sell 48 for 1.99 and basically takes over the flavor and it's still there and coating your tongue after 5 glasses of water . . . All they have to do is a make the cake with the awesome frosting that accents the taste in all the right places and gives that pop but doesn't over power it.
They can adjust it better / turn it around . . . And they are doing a good effort
Xdefiant was fun game but was fundamentally broken, (well the main dev was one of the two that made COD MW and MW 2, yeah THAT COD MW and MW 2), the netcode / hit registration was so bad and broken (they used a MMORPG engine for FPS duty) and even experts knowledgeable in that engine couldn't fix it to do what most FPS engines and games take for granted, and they went from millions of players to 20k, then 5K and less, and ubi shut it down.
My take: fix what's broken, some of this list is already slated . . .
adjust the gun, so no meta, and fun game close as IRL fire arms w/out excessive mil sim as they can get. (hip fire shouldn't ADS accurate and SMGs shouldn't bean more accurately than DMR's at DMR / Sniper range) . The blo0m.
Prioritize the net code / hit registration fixes.
Make big maps with cover and good lines (BF 1 you could flank, but BF 6 feels like there's people everywhere in all avenues) to give that ebb and flow.
Get poll for the most wanted maps from Golden Era BF's and recreate them for BF 6
Rework the challenges so it's doable, and tracking so it works.
Get people on reviewing account bans to check if its legit that girl's a rage hacker or some genuine mistake like CS Go's / valorant anticheat cuz they forgot to close CSGO / valorant fast enough and also checking on those missing their EA app rewards.
Fix the missile / aircraft / AA issues.
Look at weapon progression. I think BF 2042 in several games of redacted 128 , I could have most scopes unlocked. In BF 6 I got the EA app rewards and burned 12 gun double XP and kept using one class (with sig weapon equipped), and across dozens of matches and only had weapons at level 6, 19, 12, and 15. In 2042 the same amount of time I'd have a quarter of the guns with all accessories unlocked.
Take a look at optimizing the game so it properly recognizes how many CPU cores and type and clear the VRAM buffer so it doesn't stack after each match
Remove the breakthough casual, you can shift that player base to portal verified with bots and solo / coop modes. Also breakthu casual is super infested by cheaters (you can tell because its all hits to arm or leg, as well as the triple head shot one) . I know you are working on weeding out cheaters but seems breakthrough casual its more pronounced and easier to tell as lower numbers of players and cuz they are farming weapons.
Have Solo / Coop of all modes. And have Portal Verified with all game modes , even BR ones and if they throw PVP AI bots backfill, make 75% - 80% progression. Have some, one go through and remove the bad hosting examples. . . you know what they are but examples are: AFK grind, or aircraft trainers that don't spawn A/C at all.
Portal have verified modes from prior BF's like 2042 did, but expand it more (like more golden era, BF 4, BF 1 or BF V, heck even 2042 lol)
Put 3 major modes with locked weapons on MP.
Take a look at the grounded military skins, but also how to individualize them, make them different but the reddit has good stuff.
Tweak and adjust vehicles.
Add unique vehicles, like it was cool they had the F-35 with VSTOL / STOL mode, maybe this game has it, add Harriers or modernized F-4 that does AA suppression.
BR add in solo mode
Set up community hosted servers, and community events where people can have BF experiences. BTW that is one of the secret sauces of Fortnight is they run events behind their skins with community in mind. Like they marshmellow artist and related skins, they literally had raves in game with his playlist and gamers and even non gamers (EDM'ers / ravers etc) checked it out. The other secret sauce is fortnite keeps what people purchased or got in game (even from the first season /beta rewards) always useable. And they listen to what the player base wants, (within reason, like they wanted matches without fort building, they had that server option, people wanted to relive past seasons, done! etc)
have checks and balances so you don't have local dictatorships or gaming mafia or making copyright like exact copies of COD's nuketown.
There's more . . . but
Additionally . . . remember you only have to please what is rational, to the core of what made BF awesome / great and you have examples to draw from (BF 1, golden era, even how other games outside of BF did it like best of Metal of Honor / Golden era COD / blackops, even from balder's gate 3 or hades ), what makes sense and a great game.
Kinda know what's going on but this is just a theory and one girl's guess on / take and it's speculation . . . Dice / EA first started out wanted to make a great game and doing things to make BF 6 Beta fun, and people ate it up. Once they had a working game, it was off to the races for a BF.
Maybe trying to please too many at once: hardcore people, the BF golden era vets, the COD golden era vets, the COD new schoolers / Warzone -ites, they are trying to please the invisible shareholders, that not now beholden to but now a huge debit hangs about their neck like a mill stone and they are out for a swim over deep waters.
At first for beta, and before they had BF labs, and people there. The want to cater to the crowd that liked BF 1 / golden era BF's and during beta, they came swinging out the gate. I liked they wanted to avoid the pitfalls the current Warzone / COD with MW reboots / B0 6 had, like SBMM, not grounded skins, 80+ % lobby using some cheat / accepting cheating is a way just to have normal game. And for a time, it was good.
There was realization how 2042 people liked the bots w/ progression for the BF 6 battle pass and how it literally revived that game and put it above B0 6 and warzone for a few moments, and also noted the downsides of the AFK / grind XP hosting.
The challenges were doable in Beta and 2042, but there was people that said majority of gamers have ADD so you have to keep them engaged and they wanted to please the MMO player base. So incoming weird challenges.
Then there's pleasing the leading / bleeding edge tech ninjas with work saver / do it cheaper, so they used AI to do a lot of stuff, maybe even level design. AI is a great tool but its needs someone competent to go over the Q/A before release.
Wanting intense ranked COD like action and draw COD people in, so they choose small maps with that CQC mentality and then all the energy drink skins and jaws like elementary kids trying to draw wide grinning great white sharks. COD is about edgy Fortnite, but maybe take the good of COD small map action, but remember this is BF and its big combined arms, big wars, big maps.
To cater to locked weapons crews from BF 1 and prior BF's but also recalled how people liked 2042's open weapon / easier to grind out weapons with support self resupply crowd. So they went with both options? Its good but feels like locked weapons is a teaser, I can find only one mode at a time, and sometimes there's a portal one too. As stated earlier but locked for major game modes out in MP as an option.
Portal but people said they couldn't get in cuz the AFK grind / bot lobby grind. And the hardcores kept saying XP was too good and they are sweating in MP, while people chill and farm same level as they are. So here we have that taken away, killing two birds with one stone, but they kinda busted up their integrity. Cuz they said full prog with portal, and there is way of doing it, but either what we see as too simple and makes too much sense whilst dev view has more nuances so maybe its not just KISS . . . or they fear people in bot land instead of MP. The real issues was the challenges and grind was outside of what MP could deliver but was reachable with full progression bots, and the other real issue is there is a casual crowd that liked 2042 AI PVP.
Why did I go through all that? You don't have to please everyone. Just follow what made the beta so fun and memorable, you make a great game and the rest will follow. Give lots of options but not too many it causes decision paralysis.
