DS4 Controller

With the arbitrary detection of the DS4Windows program as cheat software, I am wondering how I'll be able to use my DS4 in BF6. I see support for Dualsense controllers on the Steam page, but none for the DS4. This will be a make or break issue for me. Please let me know how I'll be able to use the controller that's comfortable for me.

  • For anyone reading this, I have found a solution. Steam has Xinput emulation now, you just have to enable "Steam Input" and pick a profile for the DS4 on your desired game.

  • you don't need software to get your controller to work with your pc. Anyone who thinks that, is purely complaining that they are no longer allowed to cheat.

  • I just plugged mine in via the USB and it worked, might have to do some minor configuration or enablement in steam

Foolish take. Why would someone who used a program in a malicious way come on here with their linked EA account to call attention to the fact that they use it?

DS4Windows has been the standby for DualShock 4 users for close to a decade. If you think it’s some uniquely problematic program, I’ve got bad news for you. Macros can also be achieved through steam input mapper and the software that comes with every keyboard. That doesn’t mean you blanket ban everything. You focus on developing more competent Anti-Cheat that can detect when cheating is actually happening.

Notice that no other games have a ban on this program.

A lot of us who use controller play wirelessly, away from the pc, on a television panel. Alas, I’ve found a workaround. Steam now has Xinput emulation. Despite that, it would still be nice not to have to switch between Steaminput and DS4Windows for my other games because EA can’t be bothered to develop efficient programs to identify cheating.

It’s not the best way to combat cheating if it creates barriers for legitimate players. As you can see by my solution I’ve conceded and am now using the Xinput emulation provided by steam. I’m not happy about it, but I’ve marked this post as solved. Take your witch-hunt elsewhere, there’s really no need to excuse yourself every time you die.
