Totally agree ! I'm in the same boat. 

First thing that came to my mind, after reading your post is this: Looks like in trying to solve the problem, with not real solutions,  Battlefield Studios is back to square one. Then please, EA invest in servers (and better matchmaking for PvP games). Create enough server room that players can host their own verified Portal servers if they want to. That was promised ! Keep working on the reward systems. Make it more balanced. The absurd high challenges makes the use of those farms attractive. But I will stop here. Please restore the promised use of creating a verified Portal server with bots with full progression. It will not hurt the serious PvP players or "Imbalance" the game as some fear. In fact, that is not possible !

Only "incompetent" one is you for not playing multiplayer game vs other players. 

play a single player games if you want pve only, not BF6 and stop crying over nothing !

agree with OP - the menu is weak & trying to create a custom experience is broken.

Bottom Line: Portal was advertised as a way to "play the way you want."  For me personally, I would not have purchased this title were it not for portal...just like I didn't buy CoD, or any other similar title.  I don't like them, because I don't like people.  I play games to GET AWAY from people.  So if you're going to have a multiplayer-only experience, that's fine, just advertise that's what it is.  Don't advertise a "play the way you want" experience & don't deliver on it.  If I could get a refund at this point I absolutely would.  This is a bait and switch plain and simple.  

The game was advertised as a single player game. I like the idea of playing both and all modes of the game but it was advertised as being playable single player or at least with bot backfill. both of those things are not available. Most of the time i cant play small modes at all. if you went to Mc Donalds and ordered a chocolate thickshake and they gave you a strawberry one, how would you like it if i said stop crying just have strawberry like me. Stupid comment.
