Enable Linux Support for Battlefield 6

Hey EA,

We can’t play Battlefield 6 on Linux because of your Javelin anti-cheat, even though Apex Legends (your own game) works perfectly on Linux. You’ve already solved this problem once - just apply the same solution to Battlefield.

The frustrating part: In September 2024, you added anti-cheat to Battlefield 1 (an 8-year-old game) and broke it completely on Linux. People who paid for it can no longer play.
Why this matters: Steam Deck sold millions. Linux gaming is growing. Companies like Riot, Bungie, and Valve all support Linux anti-cheat successfully.

What we want: Enable Linux support for Battlefield 6. You have the tech, you’ve done it with Apex - just do it for Battlefield too.
Don’t make us choose between our OS and your games when you’ve already proven you can support both.

Thanks.

They will never gonna do it because they're lazy and ignorance and don't care about other OSs then windows.

They could do it server side Anti cheat instead of this **bleep** client side.

I would love to have linux support for the game.  I just upgraded my pc for windows 11 lmao.  otherwise I would of used linux.    But if I put myself in EA's shoes,  I would personally feel like I'm rewarding hackers,   which are literally half the playerbase nowadays,  with what they want.  their favorite O/S.    The same people who have already pwned my game.  Probably the same reason we no longer have dedicated servers.  not just cause of the attacks on good admins lagging out their servers making them impractical to host and spend money on   but because EA would feel like they are again,  rewarding these same people.

Really nothing is going to change until the gov't steps in and does something about it,  and they have turned a blind eye for 20 years.

  • I've migrated all my computers over to Linux because Windows 11 is a terrible product, if there was Linux support it would be fantastic. At the end of the day it will increase the companies bottom line sales and increase profits giving Linux Support. It's 2026 and it should have happen a long time ago.

  • Do you really want to install a kernel level anti cheat from EA on your linux?

If APEX Legends is running on Linux, then I see no reason to play BF6 on Linux. I`m seriously done with Windows.

If next BF doesn`t ship on Linux and MacOS, then goodbye!!! 2 of my fav titles that I play from time to time run on Linux.

BF6 is the last straw for me after seeing so many issues, a lack of roadmap, a lack of content, and paid AI content.

Sorry, the franchise is being mismanaged heavily at this point. Even tournaments had to be cancelled due to issues with the game.

These are two totally different Anticheat approaches.

Apex Anticheat is a software which only needs to be build with WINE support enabled.
BF6 Anticheat is a Kernel Level Anticheat.
