I suck so bad and other things

So Im new to Battle Field, I got the game to play with my son and my brother. After 115 hours of game play Im still struggling to even be competitive. Im not new to 1st person shooters but daaaaaamn I cant hit the broad side of a barn before I get lit up and killed.

Im currently level 62, playing mainly Assault class , using the Nvo-228E with a lot of upgrades unlocked on it, but I cant seem to consistently HIT people. I get a site on them AIM and fire 3-4 rounds hit a few and they turn around and kill me or I completely miss and get kill, or just spawn in and die over and over. Its not uncommon for me to get 5 kills a session, when I see people level 5 , 10 ,15, 20 getting 48 kills a round ??  WTF am I doing wrong ? I'm playing on PC,  I try to move around the map and pay attention to the mini map as well. I cant for the life of me get the SPOT button to do anything. When I press it a radial menu opens and I get killed trying to navigate that thing so I don't even try anymore.

Im now to the point that I only want to play Casual Breakthrough because I can kill things and enjoy the game a little bit. Anytime I play the other game modes it purely an effort in futility, Tanks, Helicopters, and Snipers O-MY !!

  • I am no expert by any means, but I’d say try playing recon. With recon you get the scope and spotting ability. You can load up another weapon (assault rifle) as your main, but at least you can peek through your spotting scope to see what’s happening (or set it in front of you), the hostiles get marked and you can better see where everyone is moving. It should help whilst you get into the swing of things. Just a suggestion… good luck!

  • Best advise I can give, slow down. Understanding where you will likely get contact from and centering your screen are crucial. Redsec gives you a little more reaction time imo, although not much, and Gauntlet is a blast if you got people in your party you can voice chat with. Spotting from devices and players is OP, use it. Nv isn’t bad, but the Kord is more precise, just get the 35 round mag asap.
