Linux Support Update?

I understand EA is working on Linux support. Any updates on this? Seeing the growth of Linux users im sure it would be a good idea for them to give us the option to run their games on Linux. Even through proton. I would love to be able to play bf6 on it but at the same time not having cheaters.

Bf4 runs decently on Linux and rarely has cheaters. Is it because their are admins on the server?

Maybe we can have the game run like Rust does for Linux with only having access to community servers and not official servers because of the anti cheat? But having access to all servers would be nice.

Also most Linux distros support secure boot and i understand bf6 demands secure boot.

    You're lucky you can't play.

  • 100% with you.  I have a single PC left (our business and our home PC's) which I keep a dual boot in order to play BF6.  Once I have achieved my goals and grown tired of BF6 I am going to delete windows entirely.   So it could be the last time I can play a Battlefield game. That would be a shame as I have been playing them since the first iterations.

Given the mass switch away from windows, it would be nice to see some sort of statement about what EA have in mind for the future. Even if it is a simple no. It won't change anything for me. But at least I will know that I will be giving up Battlefield to get windows out of my life entirely.   Though I think that will be very short sighted as the pace of switching to linux is growing all the time.

Also agree with your comment about BF4 being a better experience when it comes to cheating.  Live player run servers were the best anti cheat there is.  It also built a real community around the game.  It has never been the same since.
