[Matchmaking Request] Route Western Australia (Perth) to SEA servers
Hi DICE Team,
Please adjust matchmaking rules to allow Western Australian (Perth) players to dynamically pool into South East Asian (SEA) servers during off-peak windows.
The Problem: Structural Region Locking
The Time Zone Gap: As a shift worker who has weekdays off, my playtime hits when the Eastern States (Sydney and Melbourne) are asleep or at work. The local OCE player pool completely evaporates.
Aggressive Bot Lobbies: Because matchmaking strictly locks me into OCE, the game forces me into dead local shards heavily populated by mostly AI bots.
Unplayable Content: Beloved, smaller game modes like Rush and Domination are functionally dead with infinite queue times, restricting players to Conquest and Escalation maps instead of allowing players to explore more of the game content.
The Data: Perth-to-Singapore Infrastructure
Geographic Proximity: Perth is physically closer to Singapore than it is to the east coast of Australia.
Excellent Latency: Thanks to the Australia-Singapore Cable (ASC), a traceroute from Perth to Singapore servers sits at a highly optimal and stable 45ms to 47ms.
Ideal Competitive Range: A sub-50ms ping falls cleanly within EA standard for Good connection quality, ensuring lag-free hit registration and network synchronization.
Thriving Player Base: SEA servers maintain a massive, active human player pool during our local off-peak hours.
The Proposed Solution:
Instead of using strict regional geo-fences that isolate WA players in dead OCE shards, please implement a dynamic failover threshold. If an OCE queue fails to find a fully human lobby within a certain timeframe, allow Perth-based IPs to pool into Singapore-based SEA servers. Alternatively, a simple, opt-in Preferred Region toggle would completely solve this for WA gamers.Thank you for looking into this!
