Mortar and Rifle Balance

I'm honestly quite disappointed, though I'm still invested in the game and it's a major step up from the last 3 massive failures. I started with high hopes into the game after beta, but it's fading...

My latest and largest disappointment is the returned mortar. I have leveled up quite quickly (working long hours and family limit my availability) to hit lvl 49 as soon as possible because I loved epic mortar battles in BF3 on bazaar. To place mortar, shoot a shell and dismantle immediately to evade counterfire was fun and required skill. Cover was easy to reach in target  zone and a hit only took 50% life max.
Now in BF6 the mortar is a complete joke and a wasted gadget slot as it doesn't deal any damage at all. A single tick of fire bomb deals more damage, in fact I only ever managed to deal some 5 points of damage on stationary tanks and destroy some equipment. This absolutely has to be fixed.

The maps are too small, there's almost no way to flank the defenders, no space for tactical operations. Also the sniper rifles are about completely useless. Up to 150 meters distance every AR, Carbine or even machinegun can deal more DPS and you can hit about the same reliability as with a sniper rifle. Larger distances to cover are almost nowhere to be found or useful. The whole recon class is mostly obsolete currently, and the team playing with more recons will surely lose.

So far the only things useful in the game are ar/carbine, SMG, maybe machineguns, and of course the tanks, and there's not enough of the latter or assault helicopters in the current maps of the game. We need more big maps like Caspian Border.

To me and many other oldschool BF fans the franchise is about heavy warfare with tanks and airforces combined with artillery, flanked by infantry to take points and guard/attack the tanks/copters.
Infantry-centered fights can happen on pure melee maps like metro (my all-time favourite) etc, where ground troops can dig it out in tunnels and buildings.

PS: I would love to see some dev trying to fold out a bipod on a rifle when ADS, especially a sniper rifle, in real life. Why can't we place the rifles like in older instances when settling down, before ADS?
