No PC crossplay option for Season 2 could be the death of BF6 (It's not hitreg.)

(Perspective from a 300 hour player.)

It's sad, but EA and DICE have literally killed battlefield. Bad decision after bad decision.

Everyone complains about hit reg, but that's not the problem. Hit reg is fine. The problem is the desync between console players and PC players. And with no way to eliminate that variable, I've seen a wide swath of players just leaving the game and uninstalling.

So many of my friend's have already uninstalled and almost all of them are because of the crossplay desync bug between PC and console players. Console players have an extreme advantage just due to the desync. They shoot you when you are well behind cover. They shoot you through smoke. Hitreg doesn't explain these things. Therefore there is no hit reg issues it's something else.

Meanwhile, from the PC perspective they were only on your screen for a millisecond and the kill log shows they shot you like 6 times. You had no time to react but somehow they had already laid you out. You get one on your screen and put half a mag into them, they 180 and insta kill you. Kill log shows them at 87 health... This isn't just lag. It's a complete and total desync between the gaming systems.

PC Cheaters are not the problem. I rarely see a PC player that i'm convinced is a cheater. But every single game a lot of my deaths are serious WTF moments, and it's always, literally, from a console player. Their desync advantage makes them unstoppable. Plus no anticheat means their modded controllers are literally aimbots. It's not fun playing against people that laser beam you across the map every single game. It's not fun when you round a corner and you die 5 steps later. You try to play stategically and EA says, nope, they are on console so they need buffs. Then EA gives them basically 25% of the recoil that PC players get. They call this "balancing".

I've resorted to just reporting these console players for cheating. I know they aren't. But I don't know how else to get EA to notice. They clearly never look at this forum, they don't look at fan sites, they don't look at steam forums, they don't look anywhere. They don't care.

Every single patch that comes and goes... no mention of this extremely widely begged for feature. But now... It's probably too late. Season 2 launch was an opportunity, and they missed it. EA and DICE killed the playerbase by not allowing crossplay off from the get go. And now, at the most pivotal moment, it's still gone completely ignored.

It's not hit reg issues. Get that out of your head. There are no hitreg issues. It's only an issue if the player you're shooting at is playing on a console.

RIP Battlefield.

  • Sadly, the game's anti-cheat system is virtually non-existent. Real cheaters kill normal players in the game without any scruples, while non-cheaters may be wrongly banned. This may sound absurd, but it has indeed happened. I am one of the victims. From Battlefield 1, Battlefield 2, to Battlefield 2042, they have never truly managed the cheating issue, while legitimate players continue to suffer.I have completely lost hope in the Battlefield series.

I just don't play BF6 anymore because of this. This evening, I pushed myself played a few rounds for the first time in months and there were only 2 pc players on each side. The matches a few months ago had about 50/50. I guess I wasn't the only PC player to get turned off by this game. It's pretty sad that BF6 doesn't care about PC user experience. I had high hopes for it. Maybe I'll play a couple rounds again in another 3 months and check in here to see if there has been any traction on "no crossplay for PC" but seeing that posts like this are still being made might have been the nail in the coffin for me.

sad but true, after waiting so long for a good BF game we get this forced crossplay **bleep**, copying COD in every single bad thing. BF is getting not fun for me anymore, I can't stand more than maybe 2 o 3 games without quitting in rage or just disgust.

I can say in every dead with 99% accuracy if the player that killed me is a PC or console player, the difference is so big in how it feels that almost never fails.

They say it's to protect the playerbase avoiding empty servers because of fragmentation but at the same time they give console the possibility of disable crossplay. Don't get what's the problem with giving the option: if then PC players found themselves in empty servers, long queues or bot filled servers and want to enable it again then it's fine but we have at least the option.

I haven't uninstalled yet, but I'm playing less and less every day so I guess I'm getting there. Played every BF title and for sure it's my last BF game ever after this experience in general, guess the franchise is moving to a place that's just not for players like me anymore.

Yep, I do the same thing. When EA/DICE sees thousands of cheat reports and the people aren't cheating, it should tell them something about their game.
