Overriding audio setup?

Is there any way to stop the game from automatically defaulting to a "supported" audio type?

For example, I'm recommended to use the 7.1 surround option for my Dolby Atmos headset when there is no dedicated Dolby Atmos sound option, but currently the game will default back to stereo with no way to bypass this. I'd like the ability to ignore what the game thinks are supported audio types.

Which just defaults to "Headset" because the game does not recognize it.

The game just doesn't recognize Dolby Atmos as capable of mixing the surround sound and does not let you choose any other options than mono, stereo or headphones (just stereo again).
