Party Size/Platoons

In Previous BF Titles we had platoons, Squads of 5+, and parties that could accommodate more friends than 3 additional people. In the recent Titles, this number has been lowered to Squads of 4 and no way to game with groups larger than 4 (Parties are also locked down to 4 people).

My Friends group attempts to play together by leaving after a round and re-joining on me/my friends in my party and hope the Queue isn't too long. But it would be a MAJOR game feature if we could all party up and go from round to round seamlessly.

I'm ok with leaving Squad size at 4 if we can have 2 or more squads linked,  or even just allowing a Party size of 8 and allowing the people in the Party to match make even if they have to split into squads once they are in the new round.

  • I agree with everyone, they don't need to make many changes. Just allow bigger groups and fit them into 2 squads. Leaders already change if players are not committed to the role so even if your group doesn't fill both squads, your group will eventually be leader for both squads (players can ask to be leaders).

If they add different types of COMs it would make this even better (Similar to squad).

100% behind this .  Was dwelling on it as a shower thought this morning.  I think 2042 first saw the death of "parties".  It feels like a laziness tactic to avoid having to build more squad management features by merging the concept of party and squad, but they need to be distinct.  This is even more the case in a world without accessible persistent servers in a browser.  If I want to game with, say, 6 people then we cannot guarantee playing together or have to limit ourselves to portal.

100%. I made a post about this right after these forums opened up as well. Starting with 2042, being the 5th person to try to join a friend group leads to me just not playing. I don't want to spend half of my limited game time sitting in a queue while listening to friends having fun on discord, if that meant that after that queue we were able to stay together then that would have been fine, but for it to happen _every_ time the map changes (because of the lack of persistence) it adds insult to injury.

Remember this Dice, we come to play with friends. I've been playing with my friends for so long that their kids have gotten big enough to play with us. So we need about 8 slots for everyone to get involved. Why didn't you think of this earlier. You guys got no friends ? This is the best suggestion I've seen since the start of the discussions. You need to seriously look into changing this. You have  time. It will sell better when this info gets out.  Just take care of business, and  this game can be successful. Hardcore BF players want it to be successful.
