Please add the Chinook as a flyable heli, but.. there's a twist

Please add the Chinook as a player-flyable helicopter, but make it an unlocked reward to be allowed to even spawn and/or pilot it (so nobody that has not completed it can get into the pilot seat).

The unlock requirements:

  1. Obtain the level 50 mastery (and red badge)
  2. Obtaining badge unlocks a challenge "SOARing the Skies"
  3. 160 pilot assists, capture 50 objectives, while piloting the UH-60
  4. Unlocks Chinook and SOAR Airborne patch
  5. [Bonus]: add night variant mode for Railway to Golmud and add additional challenge unlocked by completing "SOARing in the Skies". "Night Owls" challenge unlocked, Completing challenge requires airdropping 30 soldiers onto objectives in 1 life. Reward; TF160 Night Stalkers patch.
  6. [Bonus 2]: Add a bundle (accessible for all to buy) with pilot and crew flight suit character skins etc, priced the same as the Lead the Way Pack

This would be a way to reward the players for effort put into transport vehicles and supporting other players in a way people would both see as a PTFO-element and create A LOT of "only in Battlefield"-moments.

  • I got a feeling that heli isn't gonna work in the game for a few reasons such as space and maybe performance given you'd load it up with a bunch of players.

Also locking access to it at all behind the challenges is kinda rough cause what if you get a chance to steal it but can't because you didn't do those things. That's one of those "only in bf moments" that just gets intrinsically denied.

Chinooks are considered advanced aircrafts that are incredibly hard to fly, which is why you have to be special forces pilots to fly them IRL. Your argument is seen and rejected.

The same can be said for a bunch of equipment in the game if we look at it through that lens. The only time it really makes sense to lock gear behind challenges really is just event stuff which is often cosmetic, or Phantom Program which is ofc a hyper elaborate easter egg and is ultimately a loadout item not this large vehicle that will take up a ton of space on a map and be effectively a paperweight for most of the server.

Nothing would prevent you from getting into a friendly one to shoot its side or rear guns. Hell, one could even argue you can't get into someone else's mortar, since that's classed as a vehicle, so there Is no rationale behind "should be able to steal a hostile one" childlike entitlement just the same as you cannot do it with the Traverser/LTV
