In beta the shotgun was incredibly strong. Now I play 2042 for the battle pass and I constantly see people with shotguns one-shotting from very long range. There is simply nothing to counter this, when players with rifles or SMGs can't do anything against a shotgun it's not normal. Please balance shotguns in part 6 so it's not so unbalanced.
They are supposed to. There is a crap-ton of stuff about them being OP and I've heard there is talk about nerfing them some.
The shotgun in Battlefield 6 has already been nerfed since the beta.
Battlefield 2042 had a recent bug related to the master key attachment doing too much damage. They fixed that as well afaik.
Overall the shotguns in Battlefield 2042 aren't really the meta though. If you get outgunned by a shotgun at any range except CQB, then that's honestly a skill issue.
