Portal XP NERF - False Advertising - Negative Steam Review

Posted the following Negative Steam review, and encourage other Battle Casuals to do the same.

I bought the game for this:
-----------------------------------
If a Verified Portal Community Experience is chosen, then anyone who plays this experience will earn the following XP and progress at exactly the same amounts as they would in a normal Multiplayer match:

Career XP - Match Completion and Win Bonus
Hardware XP
Mission and Assignments Progress
------------------------------------

Ended up being FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.

1 Week after launch, and due to a lack of capacity with their Amazon Cloud Servers, people were unable to host portal creations. So the DEVS turned off all XP for any server with bot backfill for an easy solution, rather than working a compromise, and engineering a smarter solution. Since I don't play the live "try hard" "sweat fest" servers, as I am a casual older gamer this totally nerfs any chance at progressing my weapons, or career challenges.

At this point, if you like getting insta deleted on live servers - Recommend

If you are a casual gamer, that wanted to host your own private "VERIFIED PORTAL EXPERIENCE" server with bot backfill so you could COOP / PVE First Person Battlefield experience - Not Recommended in it's current state.

If the Season 1 patch fixes this, or the dev's address it in a patch or two, I will come back and revisit my recommendation.

Overall - I can't currently recommend. This was false advertising, bait and switch at it's best.

  • When the change contradicts advertised features, they should refund purchases.

Most of the user reviews in Simplified Chinese are negative, including mine lol

  • Already requested my refund on Steam for pre-order. At this point it's false advertisement and theft.

If they can get away with this, why not just make all the weapons/attachments a buy to acquire option.... Ohhh wait, they already did that in multiple games prior. This is a scum-sucking corporation who only cares about shareholders and nothing more. Long as they get their multi-million payouts, they'd give two **bleep**s about the actual quality of the game and what the players think.
