Quick question: would anyone like to see bot-only matches return?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a small and friendly request that I think many players might relate to.

I’m 25, working a full-time job, and like many others, I don’t always have the time or energy for intense PvP sessions or competitive play. Sometimes, after a long and exhausting workday, I just want to turn on the game, clear my head, play quietly for a while, and relax.

In Battlefield 2042, there was a simple option to launch Conquest or Breakthrough matches against bots - either solo or with friends. Even with reduced XP, this mode was great for practice, relaxed play, or short sessions after work.

In Battlefield 6, this option doesn’t seem to be available anymore. While Casual Breakthrough exists, it feels a bit different from being able to start a full match against bots at your own pace.

For some players, this kind of mode is really useful:
- practicing weapons or vehicles
- learning maps and mechanics
- playing casually without pressure
- fitting Battlefield into limited free time

I’m not asking for full progression or rewards. Reduced XP or limited progression would be completely fine. The main idea is simply having an official option to launch normal matches fully against bots again.

I wanted to share this in a positive way and see if others feel the same - would this be something you’d like to see return?

  • It’s obviously wanted based on the number of people/posts wanting PvE against bots after it was taken down 2 weeks after launch of BF6.

Solo/co-op play wasn’t broken and EA never said why they removed it… guesses are it was XP farming against bots and also it reduces pay for play purchases, which I don’t fully understand.

EA fixed it by giving no XP for killing bots… so why has EA not brought back solo against bots on verified servers games? Can someone take a guess for me.

But, again, that wasn't removed or now missing. Co-op mode was never in BF6. And neither was having access to attachments or guns you hadn't yet unlocked.

You couldn't be more wrong or misinformed. Dunno where you were but you've also missed the memo, apparently.

I WAS playing as coop with my Discord friends in Portal matches right after launch, and we WERE having lots of fun unlocking weapon attachments and completing challenges all while playing solely against the bots team. Everyone was having a blast, till 2 weeks later when they removed it all. So, you're simply mistaken about what WAS in the released game and what WAS taken away from us.

I never said that all the weapons and attachments were already unlocked for us... in fact, I said this is what needs to be done in a scenario where they remove all progression.

In any event, I dunno why I am even here arguing about a game which I have deleted, kind of a waste of my time at this point. I was just lending an open ear to a fellow player to be sympathetic to his point.  I still come back to look once a week or so, just incase they ever decide to do the right thing.

  • No.  There’s enough bots in the game already with all the empty lobbies being populated with bots because there aren’t enough humans to fill them.

You have a strange definition of co-op mode. Whatever your definition of co-op, it has not been removed, or it has never existed in BF6. Both are true. Choose your definition.

Either way, nothing has been changed or been removed other than XP and unlocks. Again, per the OP, this was fine and is not part of their request. Maybe start your own thread with your own definitions? Or don't argue with me about something I never stated.

"Co-op (cooperative) play in games is a, mode or genre where players work together as teammates to achieve common goals, such as completing a story or defeating computer-controlled enemies, rather than competing against each other"

... and as I already said, we were having a blast playing together against the bots. Just because Coop wasn't something you could click on in the menu's (ala 2042)..you were still able to set it up within portal's editor. It's not installed so I can't check my files to tell you which setting/s you have to manipulate but it was the same or very similar to how you could do it in 2042, from what I remember.

Anyway, even if they put coop back in the menu like they had in 2042...theyd still have to make that change to unlocking the weapons that people to have access to. Remember, they advertised we'd be able to unlock all paid for content in Portal's PvE modes.

The irresponsible manner in which they've handled this situation has turned off my Discord players to point that I doubt most of them would ever play again even if they put everything back the way it was. That's such a shame, but it's likely the reality that EA/DICE have caused by lying and stealing away what they gave us after we paid.

I will say this Battlefield 6 is truly a great game there are just issues with it that needs to satisfy players and it feels like who makes theses future decisions are really gonna struggle .. if they are gonna keep this up like this but who knows maybe they can change it around for better or worse.

Absolutely want bots to return it really sucks they gotta add a patch to portal codes and it really feels obscure .. so far am enjoying another game Arknights Endfield and makes me say bye to BF6 unless it changes to make me come back and stick around and might pay if good things happen like truly big changes.
