Recon's gadget selection feels very weak without spawn beacon
I understand why the beacon was moved to Assault, but Recon needs substantially more with it gone. The Spawn Beacon was arguably Recon's best gadget in most game modes in prior titles, and losing it is a heavy, heavy nerf. I was hoping the team would recognize this and compensate before launch, but that has not happened.
Recon essentially has its BF4 gadget selection, but without its best gadget. The UAV is cool but doesn't have near the uptime necessary to make up for the loss of the Spawn Beacon, nor should it. I honestly don't know what to give them, but the situation is extremely dire for this class. C4 is good of course.
For the record, it doesn't help that one of the default gadgets for them is the SOFLAM, which feels much weaker when Engineers don't start out with a weapon that can respond to it, and IFV TOWs ALSO don't seem to be able to lock onto laser designated targets. Claymores are gimmicky, the drone is of course useful but...that's about it. Sniper Decoy seems like a joke and tracer dart seems very situational.
Really the loss of the beacon is immense for this class, Spawn Beacon was a huge part of the reason I selected the class previously.
