Dear Battlefield Developers,
As a dedicated FPS player on both PC and console, I'm writing to you today with a suggestion I believe could significantly improve the gameplay experience for controller users: native gyro aiming support.
Gyro aiming has fundamentally changed how I play FPS games, offering a level of precision that is simply not possible with traditional thumbsticks. I believe implementing this feature would be a game-changer for the Battlefield series, allowing controller players to compete more effectively and close the gap against mouse and keyboard players.
To fully optimize the gyro aiming experience, I suggest including a few key features that complement the technology:
* Gyro Ratcheting: This feature would allow players to momentarily pause and recenter the gyro aim, similar to how a mouse can be lifted and repositioned.
* Flick Stick: This would enable the right stick to instantly snap the view horizontally in the direction it's pushed. For example, pushing the stick right would instantly turn the player 90 degrees, allowing for incredibly fast turns and situational awareness.
* Dedicated Recenter Button: A button that instantly resets the gyro's orientation to a neutral position, similar to the feature found in games like Splatoon.
I truly believe gyro aiming is the solution to the long-standing "mouse vs. controller" debate. By offering a more precise aiming method, controller players can finally have a better way to aim and confidently play alongside or against their mouse and keyboard counterparts.
Adding native gyro aiming to Battlefield 6 would not only be a first for the series but would also set a new standard for future Battlefield titles. I urge you to consider this feature and help bridge the gap between controller and mouse aiming.
