Ok so over the last little while I’ve been doing some unscientific research into controller aim assist. Here’s my unscientific approach….- Load into a game and play – when deleted check the setup.- If beaten in a good fight – check the setup.- Disable cross play (I’m on PC so it is a line of code) – when I am deleted check setup.- When beaten in a good fight – check setup.Here’s what I’ve found:- Playing in open game with consols is untannable – the aim assist is so overwhelming that keyboard and mouse is not competitive. Jumping, sliding and shooting accurately is a controller thing and can’t be maintained on keyboard and mouse. The accuracy and ability to hold that aim is unrealistic.- When cross play is off, I get a MUCH better game and the only times I get deleted is when it’s a PC playing with a controller!Yes, I have checked this and yes, I am confident in my findings.P.S. Please don’t just reply “get better” or “this is a skill issue” I’m trying to have an intelligent conversation here and have put a lot of time into this and don’t need unintelligent replies like that!

Why should we M&K players use a controller when all you controller players claim M&K is the superior input method? You know the reason... because you are addicted to the assist!Why should we have to learn a new input method when we are good with M&K? Shouldn't you just plug in a M&K to your console and use that? Controller players were destroyed when PCs were involved against them. That was when the console couldn't really compete with a PC, TVs were slow refreshing and the controller polling rate was too slow to keep up. That is all gone now, so there is no hardware excuse. All the FPS games have it now because all you controller players scream for it and complain when you can't compete, because... you are addicted to the assistance!Easiest solution? Require M&K for all including console. It is the better input method, isn't it?! So, game companies could eliminate a bunch of issues with aim and whatnot if we are all on the same method. You all know how to use a keyboard and mouse. You all had to "git gud" even on your controllers, so stop the addiction and use M&K. Don't give me any crap about drivers and macros or buttons, etc... your consoles can do it.

Again, PC vs PC and Console vs Console does nothing in the discussion of M&KB and controller. You can play console with M&KB (I do!) and you can play PC with controller. Please stop talking about crossplay in a discussion of input types.

Lol I will keep “telling myself that” because it’s the only hope left in this unemployment economy.Yea I get that but most can compete against the cronus/modded controllers, it’s situational advantage, modding has been around since the original halo. Wall hacks or an aimbot is a different story, it’s nearly impossible for people to maintain game breaking cheats on modern consoles (xbox specifically, ps3 had usb wall hack problems) which is why xbox has always been my preferred platform. “the times” is hard to actually gauge because AA-AAA are fictitious terms in gaming, unlike competitive sports leagues. On that note generally in gaming nowadays it’s indie, AA, AAA, and is usually regarding its budget. Though in the past, before the internet was in everyone’s house…, AA-AAA were terms usually regarding the quality and popularity. For example, back in the day halo was considered AAA compared to max payne or metal gear solid and even far cry being AA just out of popularity alone. Where as now they are all referred to as AAA gamesLike I said I’m just trying to objectively state the history, how we got here and hence why consoles will always have aim assist, anywhoI agree with what you’re getting at though. Crossplay between platforms has been nothing but trouble, considering there’s nearly twice the amount of people on the earth compared to when gaming was golden there is no need for crossplay…., or customer satisfaction for that matter. I agree, I think we are all part of the problem, I’m going back to BF4 USMC servers on xbox if anyone wants to join, still a thriving community there. A time before micro transactions and battlepasses, “they don’t make em like they used to”. lol I’m starting to sound like my grandfather.

You make some very valid points. I too have been building systems since 2000. My first machine was hand me down parts from guys I worked with. I had a Pentium 2 with 32MB ram and a VooDoo2 paired with a Matrox for a TOTAL of 16MB ram so I could play Half-life. I quickly upgraded but that gives you an idea how long ago it was and what I was working with. I still build systems but as I get older, I can't lie, the simplicity of a console is tempting. Not to mention they are not far behind PCs in capability. I was really considering the Steambox (or whatever it is called). I always wanted a "gaming OS" and I don't want to give up my library that goes back to the start of Steam. I have been lucky to have the ability to touch a system and it work. I have rarely had instability issues or crashes (except when I tried Windows ME constant crashes so I went to win2k). Things go wrong, but I still accept that as part of being a PC guy. I'm on my second custom loop system. Its the cost that is most painful. I own my home and have had to make some really expensive repairs (I had to have my pool fully resurfaced and tiled for $30K)! Spending another $6k on building a system is getting difficult in this economy. I also need the PC since I work from home. Oh, well... I will limp by with what I have till something dies and then replace it. Usually when the mobo starts dying I build a new system.I don't like controllers, but I also don't like cheaters. I have to really start weighing which I hate more... Obviously, cheaters. I don't know, in recent years (since the coof) I have considered quitting online gaming altogether. Just play single players games. Things like Fallout, Elder Scrolls, etc I find just as enjoyable as multiplayer but without the headaches.I appreciate the measured responses guys. I will say I don’t agree with the recoil difference, it should be a standard system across any input.
BUT, aim assist for controllers is in EVERY FPS. If you play long enough on controller you’ll notice the aim assist in this game is actually counter intuative and works better if it’s turned down below 50%. More often than not the aim assist pushes your aim ahead of moving targets and you really have to fight it making sniping very painful. Dont even get me started on trying to aim down a lane with multiple targets.

Well, aim assist must be completely broken then, because I'm on xbox and I don't notice it at all. My reticle slows down while ads, that's all I can tell. No snap-to lock on, reticle doesn't track if the player moves at all. I believe you that controller players have op aim assist, but there's a lot of controller players who it doesn't work for. I play cross-play off, and I still run in to cronus cheaters, which I think might be a lot of what pc players are experiencing.

Easiest solution would be to have the option to disable crossplay for pc. That’s quite the warped veiwpoint you’re proposing.
Console players are generally less inclined to be no lifers that play casually for fun, not as a phoney carreer. (also ease of access to major cheats on pc)
Also to your claim on the “times” name more than 3 AAA FPS games that don’t have aim assist on console that have crossplay… seige, starwars, pubg and….?

What?! You Pc players are ridiculous! So nerf aim assist after it's been significantly nerfed again? Dude ima console player the aim assist sucks! If you're not good at the game you're just not dont find something to blame! EA give these Pc aim bot and cronas users the ability to turn off cross-platform! No one wants to play with those cheaters anyway!

I hope for all PC Player they get the Crossplay Off Button.
But after that, you will have another Problem: Cheater.
I deactivated for this Reason Crossplay Off, PC Cheaters are to much.
