Server Browser missing tons of basic functionality, please address ASAP
The server browser doesn't work well for a few main reasons:
- No favorites button/tab. Part of what made the server browsers before so useful was the ability to favorite a server and return to it whenever you hopped on quickly, without having to filter through everything again. I could amass a dozen of my favorite servers for different game modes, and my experience getting into a game was consistent, quick, painless, and efficient. At present my options are choose one of the dozen different playlists on the main menu that change constantly and also constantly change position (???????????? what?????) making literally every day a guessing game on how to queue up for my favorite modes, or to implement 5-6 filters every time I want to search for a specific game type, which leads to issue number 2...
- Filters aren't saved. If I press "X" for "Experience Info" on a server, all my filters are wiped when I back out of that screen and I have to refilter. This is an excruciating process. It's made even worse because the filters can't even filter properly.
- The filters don't even work right. I can choose to select presets like "hardcore" or "class-locked weapons" but I can't EXCLUDE options, so if I want "class-locked weapons", but not hardcore, I'm screwed, as I can only filter for class-locked weapons, which necessarily includes hardcore, so I'm shown 30 Hardcore servers and 2 servers I might actually want to play.
- Clicking the arrows on the "General" tab of the filters screen requires two clicks the first time you click each row. Why? Go to the filters screen now, General tab, and try to change your region/number of players/etc. Why does my first click on that arrow do nothing? Why? It's unresponsive and feels laggy.
- Less relevant now as map creation is still early on, but we already have players creating custom versions of older maps in Conquest, TDM, domination, etc. But if I want to play these maps, I have no idea how to find them, because filtering for "Conquest" won't include them, even though they might be conquest recreations. Surely if someone is just recreating conquest that can be included in a conquest search, with the option to filter out "custom maps"? Also, why can't people create TDM or Domination lobbies? Why can't I search for them? I've also noticed players have to create custom UI for these game modes. Surely you can offer them preset UI combos for TDM, Domination, Conquest, etc., so I don't have to look at MS-Paint flat-colored game UI in what may just literally be classic TDM on a custom map.
