Server ping/latency displays in white occasionally

I'm glad I am not the only one, thought I was going mad!

Unfortunately I have been through all of the network settings etc, and couldn't find anything to address this particular "issue". A toggle switch would be nice, as personally, I am only interested in knowing if my ping gets high enough to warrant a yellow or red warning (with the normal packet loss indicators, etc).

My understanding is that it show you when your ping rises. If it's white, it's a small rise but it appears to let you know something is going on. When it becomes a problem it turns yellow and then red. I also see some squares sometimes and those represent packet losses. 

I believe all this was introduced to somewhat address all the hitreg brouhaha. If you think there is a hitreg issue, have a quick look on the top left and see if anything untoward is happening with your connection. 

I haven't tried, but do check the network settings, you may be able to remove them by turning everything to "off". 

I've noticed that the last couple of weeks and wondered what the hell it was. You are correct though, it is distracting.
