Sniper rifle

I made two comments for you and posted them here in the General Discussion, but I haven't received any response. I would like to recommend a few more ideas. I see that players who use Sniper Rifles are the least favored. Besides having very few weapons to choose from, there is also a limit to the number of attachments we can equip on our weapon.

I would also like to recommend a new scoring system. Those of us who play as Snipers are unable to effectively enter areas that are being captured, such as in Conquest mode
Not only are the engagement distances too short for a sniper, making it very difficult to land shots while trying to capture the objective, but we also cannot earn enough score, making it almost impossible to achieve a good position on the scoreboard.

1 – Perhaps my recommendation to improve the Sniper class would be to award higher scores, either for headshot kills or with a bonus based on distance. I often notice that I have almost the same number of kills as a player at the top of the scoreboard, yet I remain far behind because I cannot stay inside the objective. Even when I do stay inside it, I cannot remain there for long because it becomes extremely difficult to aim accurately at my opponent, and the weapon's rate of fire also makes it harder.

2 – Perhaps introduce a separate ranking for players with the most kills and the fewest deaths during the match, rewarding players who use strategy and careful positioning.

3 – I already suggested this in other discussions I sent you: increase the bullet velocity. Sometimes it simply makes no sense to hit someone at close range, from the middle of the chest down to the waist, and not get a kill. A sniper rifle projectile is much larger and far more lethal.

I would like you to pay more attention to this class. It brings balance to a match.

    "increase the bullet velocity"

This has got to be a joke. Bullet velocity is already way too high. Sniping has been made way too easy in this game, sniping should get a huge nerf. Lower bullet velocity, greater bullet drop, proper suppression.

You're only taking into account when you die and your own enjoyment of the gameplay because you don't play as a sniper. We have the difficulty of having to aim much more than any other class, along with the slow fire rate of the weapon, which takes quite a while between shots. Taking real life into account, a single sniper shot is extremely lethal, far more than any other weapon a human being can carry. When it comes to playing a game like this, you can't simply think only about yourself. The game is not a real-life simulator, but it should stay as close to reality as possible. I only play as a sniper, so I have the experience to speak on this, and if there's one thing that's very frustrating, it's realizing that the other classes deal practically the same amount of damage as you in 2 to at most 3 bullets, while a sniper who misses 1 shot is practically dead because of the slow fire rate and the difficulty of aiming at distances between 70 and 150 meters.

"Lower bullet velocity, greater bullet drop"

This has got to be a joke. DICE literally just dropped Update 1.3.3.0 which reduced muzzle velocity across the board, increased bullet drag by a massive 40% and nerfed stomach and limb damage multipliers down to 0.67x. You are asking for nerfs that already happened.

And crying sniping is too easy? You're probably meaning the Rangefinder right? That’s the modern reality, not some made-up game mechanic. We can literally buy these systems off the shelf right now. Hunters use smart scopes every day you push a button, it lasers the target, calculates the exact drop and lights up a dot on the crosshair showing you where to aim.

It can go even further than that. We literally have smart rifles today that link directly to your smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi. The phone shows your scope feed, the internal computer calculates the zero, and the system literally locks the trigger and won't let the gun fire until the computer guarantees a direct hit. Now, if we had that in-game, I'd agree with you about sniping being too easy.

Also, the Sweet Spot mechanic needs to be completely removed. Handing out guaranteed one-shot body kills just for standing at an arbitrary distance doesn't represent the real world at all.  A bullet doesn't magically become deadlier in the chest at 100 meters than at 50. If DICE wants realistic damage, drop the arcade sweet spots and give us a Sniper Elite style hit system, where damage is dictated by hitting actual vital organs, bones, and arteries. That forces real marksmanship instead of rewarding lazy chest shots.

I agree they need to bring back better suppression and flinch so snipers can't just tank LMG fire. But asking to lower bullet velocity? Modern sniper rounds fly at nearly 1,000 meters a second. Nerfing velocity just turns a modern-era shooter into a paintball game. Leave the ballistics alone and fix the flinch mechanics.

I'm not only thinking about myself. I used to play the sniper role a ton in prior battlefield games. Sniping has always been challenging, that's part of what makes landing a headshot so satisfying. Eyeing range to account for bullet drop, doing calculations in your head, putting the crosshair in the right spot to land that headshot. Now at so many ranges, you don't have to do that, you just aim on the head or only slightly above, and bam, it's a headshot. The idea that it's difficult to aim at distances between 70 to 150 meters is a joke, it's incredibly easy.

Easy sniping puts in far more snipers in a match, and most snipers are selfish players who don't care about contributing to teamplay, they just want their KD, sitting in a single spot the entire match.

No, I'm talking about there being virtually zero bullet drop and very little travel time, that's what makes sniping too easy in this game. You talk about "modern reality", you know what's also modern reality? Not just modern, but for all of gun history? Fired bullets dropping to the ground at the same rate as a bullet that's dropped out of the hand from the same height, provided they are fired perfectly perpendicular to the ground. Snipers in real life have to constantly compensate for this. But in this game, you barely have to, you can easily land headshots at great ranges.

At least, until now, if what you say about the recent patch is correct. I haven't played sniper since the update, so if you're right, then it's in a much better place.

Besides having very few weapons to choose from, there is also a limit to the number of attachments we can equip on our weapon.

Those weapons already having perfect precision makes it difficult to imagine a range of attachments that still respect the required balance. Even larger magazines wouldn’t exactly be that useful.

Those of us who play as Snipers are unable to effectively enter areas that are being captured

You already get a point bonus for killing enemies standing on objs. If you do not want to pull out your handgun and help the team contest, then you still have the option of keeping mobile enough and following them when they contest objs that are suitable for a sniper, and that will boost your score.

There should be no particular reward for shooting randos from a perch. BF is an objective-based game, that’s what differentiates it from the competition, and playing the obj is what is rewarded. To be a good sniper, you need to be mobile and cover the areas that are being contested, not pick up people in the wild.
