Allow Portal to Start With One Player

Dear Dice,

I am a long-term BF fan. In fact, that’s the only game I play. I used to play B3 a lot back in the day in 2012-2013. However, I was not fortunate enough to be able to play bf4, bf1, and bf5 due to life events. But, fortunately, I was able to join bf2042 later in 2022 when the game matured and was polished. Due to busy life though, I enjoyed playing it on portal servers with bots casually on weekends for 2 years until bf6 came along. Though, I really would like to enjoy playing bf6, I have not been able to do so. After, a week of hard work, I come home to play bf6 casually on official portal conquest game with bots backfill, but the game never starts because there is a minimum requirement of 4 human player, so the servers never reaches the required number and the game never starts even after hours of waiting.

All I am asking is to let me play an official casual conquest with bots, even, if it means hosting on my local pc. I really do not care much about xp, leveling assignments etc, so if you make it like bf2042 portals where you only get moderate xp but can still complete assignments, that would be fine with me.

Why I do not want to play multiplayer full of human players:

  • I cannot get my hands on my favorite vehicles which are air vehicles, and even if i do, that does not last long. So the whole game becomes a waiting game and out of 20 min game i might be able to actually play a few minutes.
  • Even if I get my hands on air vehicles I get take down quickly due to overpowered AAs such as stingers and AA vehicles with nearly unlimited range, insane tow missile, fast rpgs, even a handgun can take little bird down. And, that is not an skill issue because I am an experienced bf pilot since bf3.

Why I don’t want to play on unofficial portal experiences that have no human requirement?

   - Many of them are unpolished, for example, the spawn location and type is horrible.

   - Due to no support for 60 hz tick rate on unofficial servers game is very laggy and unresponsive especially in fast paced fighter jets and little bird.

- You don’t get points to complete assignments or battle pass or gradually level up your weapons.

So, please, DICE, bring back support to play official portal experiences with bot back-fill and no human players minimum requirements on a 60 hz tick rate server for casual player like me. If, you look at number of players playing portal games on 2042 even now, you will realize we do exist.

Thank you in advance for paying attention to this matter and resolving it. 🙏

I am in exactly the same position. I paid full price to play this game for fun in "solo" mode which was a Portal PvE server. I was able to do this for two weeks after launch and then this feature was removed. I tried to get a refund when the feature was removed but it was declined by Steam as I had played too many hours. I'm not fussed about XP or progression, I just want to have an enjoyable experience playing against bots at a more relaxed pace.

If the option to start a PvE server solo doesn't return then this will be the last BF game I'll play unfortunately. It's been very disappointing as a BF fan since 1942 and DC.

Same.  Quite frankly, I think it should be illegal to advertise a feature and then remove it AFTER the two-week cut-off for refunds has passed.  They had a beta.  They could have said after the beta they were removing solo play and I could have refunded and gone on my merry way.  Instead, I have a game I'll likely never play again.

I've been a long fan of Battlefield.  I played 1942, BF2, 2142, BFBC2, BF3, BF4, BF-1, BFHL, BFV, BF2042, and finally BF6.  Before the portal nerf, BF6 was my favorite.  Now I can't play because I'm simply too old and slow to compete with younger players, and I can only play maybe 30 min to an hour a day.  If bait-and-switch is what I can expect from EA, not only will BF6 be the last BF game I buy, it will be the last EA game I buy.  Restore solo play and I might reconsider.

The Battlefield 6 End User License Agreement states:

EA may retire online features after 30 days notice at ea.com/service-updates.

By removing the feature in a patch without warning they broke their own EULA. That was the grounds that I requested a refund via Steam. However Steam declined my refund request as I had "played over the minimum number of hours".

This decision broke Australian Consumer Law as an advertised service was altered, meaning the product could not be used for the intended purpose that it was purchased for. I raised this with Steam and it was still declined. Steam have been fined for this practice previously:

People talk about this game being a "bait and switch". Honestly, what they have done is actually illegal in my country.

They are losing long term fans and customers all because they don't want a few people enjoying themselves in solo servers. Goodbye Battlefield, thanks for the good memories since 2002.
